Hey guys,

Here is the design idea I came up with for your logo: #41. I made a Spade icon out of the negative space of the "A", simplifying the entire design overall. The less lines and details you have, the better, when it comes to embroidery on hats, jerseys, etc.

I also included a couple of distressed, flat color versions: #42 & #43. These would be cool on t-shirts and other things that would look sweet with a nice vintage feel applied to them.

Let me know if you want to see any changes, as I would love to work with you to get this just right. Nothing like adding a great baseball logo to the portfolio!

And some pin stripes just for fun! --> #44

GoodGuy- dude, I love it! We really wish we could get two logos, one for the hat and one for the jersey's but since it's out of pocket, only getting one. But, I agree, the distressed look would be great on T-shirts and jersey's- yet it's the embroidery on the hat that is limiting us. So, I love #43, but can't do it, nor can I go for #42 as we can't distress the hats.

But, for #41, I dig it! I am not sure about the bottom of the A with the color transition. Can we get something like that with an all black A? I really like your thought process and would love to see more! I would say 'go Twins', but we live in AZ, so the D-backs have our hearts. :)

Sounds good, man. I will get some solid options similar to #41 posted so you can see them how exactly how they would look on the hats. This current one would be more for full-color printed things and web-based images.

D-Backs? Nice. I am glad to see Kubel finding success this year. I can't believe we let him go—our owners are tightwads! Haha...

More designs to come soon!...

Here is a solid 2-color design (3 counting the black), so it would be a 3-color embroidery on hats or a 2-color print on shirts... #46

I can add some more details, but I think you would be pushing your luck as far as embroidery on hats would go. (Digitized lines need to simple, clean and thick.)

Hey bud- #46 is spot on, but can I ask for one slight and easy (says the guy who knows nothing about graphic design) change? Can you adjust the color in #46 to be a deeper red? Not maroon, but less orange than the current color. Also, we are on the same page about the level of detail. We can't have too much.

Lastly, yes, Kubel has been a great addition to the team as he Aaron Hill from the Mariners. I just can't believe we just traded Stephen Drew for almost nothing! It was what, for a AA player and a bag of jelly beans?

No problem--> #49. I also thickened the border lines a bit, just because they can sometimes lose weight once digitized for stitching. Oh, and your logo knowledge was correct this time...Quick and easy indeed. haha.

And yeah, Hill has been a beast—I added him in Fantasy to use in my Utility spot until Jose Bautista comes back. Can't argue with the production he's given me. As far as the Drew trade, I hope you guys don't end up with a JJ Hardy type thing like what we ran into.

Revised entries: #57, #58. As you can see, the white border allows for pretty much any color combo to work well on any color. You could even have the same red/black combo for both if you wanted to save on production setups/costs/time.

I am still going to create a full on "Aces" version later today as well.

GoodGuy- It's coming to an end soon and my other coach and I are having cocktails making our final decision. That said, we have one find request for revisions... on #49 can you add a double highlight inside the bats by adding a black highlight inside the white, and can you add a little detail on the bats (white lines etc, see other submissions), to make them look more like bats as well as make them black. Also, please make the A white- all on a red and black background? Again, not trying to kill it with detail, but hoping we can get a little more...

No problem. I'm out right now celebrating my first fall ball win, but I will get some revisions posted tonight still. I've got a cool wood pattern I started earlier for the bats!...

You still get a couple days to work with the Top 5 by the way. So don't stress the hard final decision yet.

Hey man, Sorry for the delay—last night got a little later than expected. Anyway... Here are some revised entries: #93, #94, #95. Let me know if these are what you were hoping to see. Thanks!

And here is one that uses the entire "ACES" word: #97

I actually think this is still clean enough to work on even hats, so it's all about your personal preference as to what you want on hats versus shirts, jerseys, etc.

Dude- I hope the hangover is getting better! But, #97 is MONEY! Can we a few small changes... we want to see black bats, black spade instead of the baseball, and ACES in white letters (and remove the spade in the A). Also, if we can see some iterations with few different fonts, that would be great too. And as always, black and red background so that we don't have use our imaginations.

Sure thing, Here is a revised entry, per your last comments: #101

I will get some additional font options done soon too!

The new color scheme actually looks great on both red & black, so you wouldn't have to have an alternate version... #102 & #101

#103, #104: Another all-caps athletic font

#105, #106: More of a classic baseball script feel

Hey man- almost done! For #102 and #106- can you make a broader base at the bottom of the spade that curves out (some of the other designers have it)? And for #102, can you add the red highlight the inside of the spade? Thanks bud!

Great minds think alike! I was already in the process of making these, and I think they address all of your requests. Good stuff!...

Dude, I love #130, but there's a lot of 'noise' with the red highlighting around 'Aces'- anything you can do about that? Also, if you can create a font that's killer, I know some of my coaches are asking about that too for example the Angels or Reno Aces type... You rock the Kasbah. Gracias amigo.

For sure. I will get some new versions posted later today!
Thanks for the update.

Thanks Brian! (Yes, I Googled you and found you on LinkedIn). :)

First of all, I love the Angels font. But, and this is my last request, I promise. Can you remove the red highlighting around ACES and make it white letters, with black, then white outline? Like #143. Then, if you can make the word Aces a little bigger, I think it will take away from the overlapping highlights and make it less noisy.

I have been confused for Brian before, but I am actually Jake Goodew. It's confusing, but I typically go by "GoodGuy Design" with no space--a play on my last name if you will. And he goes by "Good Guy Designs". I don't think he knew I existed when he chose his name, but it's all good! ;) I imagine he gets similar mentions.

Anyway... No worries at all on the last request. I will get that done quick, and we can see if it is 100% how you want it. Don't feel bad about additional requests, as I want to make sure we get it just right! I will get a revision posted ASAP.

Here are a couple revised options: #148 & #149

I removed the highlights on the spade, so that it's not as busy. I found it distracting once I noticed it, as you mentioned. Let me know what you think. Thanks!

Client
Ah, gotcha! Thanks Jake! Dude, #148 and #149 are SOOOOOO close. It still looks like there's too much overlap between the outlines of the letters- look at the gap between the E and S and how it's solid but should probably show the spade. Is there something in the background? Can we make the letters sharper- maybe a thinner outline? I need a drink...

Logo Designer
Sounds good! I will get that revised quick.

Pour me one too! haha...

Logo Designer
Here are thinner lines: #150, #151

I had some awkward looking shapes with the other lines, so I had filled them in to fix it. (Nice catch!) Anyway, I think this works better now, as the spade shape shows through in more places.

And one just a little thicker: #152 vs #150

DUDE! I am so close! White Aces, black outline around Aces, no white behind, then a white outline around the entire thing. See 139.

Congrats man! You win! I am going to get drunk tonight and do unspeakable things to my wife on your behalf! (She says thank you). But, we are in a crunch with the uniform people, so if you could upload the design ASAP, I would really appreciate it- and you get paid faster. Gracias amigo!
