#10 and #11 > here i simplify your old "C" into a modernized one, you can see a hammer inside the C in the negative space, a simple edit that still have the same feel as your old logo and make your logo and at the same time has a "construction related theme" in it.

btw, your old C logo is a must or optional for this contest? because i see you also rank designs that is not incorporating your old C logo.

It is optional, I was hoping to still include it if possible but I'm also open to other ideas as well.

One other thing I wanted to note is I love the logo, but it came to my attention yesterday that someone in the industry in our city has the same idea, with the acronym scsa and they have a hammer in the c. Do you have any other ideas?

about the hammer inside the letter C is the most make sense treatment since your business initial letter is C and the business area is construction, and i don't see any problem there, meanwhile your logo is C, while theirs is SCSA.

actually putting hammer inside letter C is the first thing came in my mind when i read your brief and i can see a hammer in your old logo, i just make the hammer more recognizable.
i also has uploaded some concept to make the C logo.

Looking great! Can you try #76 with the same shape outline around the entire logo that is around the "c" and fill it with black and change the font, etc to white? Just for a different look?

The outline that goes around the "c" with the curved edges is what I would like to see, right now it just looks like a black square. Make sense?

#168 is close, if you go to my contest brief I uploaded a new file for reference. It's called logo.docx. I just meant I liked the black background with the curved edges. Have a look!
