Could you try something with:

Blue/Turquoise
Taupe (Taupe is a dark brown/tan-ish grey color.)
Purple/royalblue

and than as a test maybe some bright/pink (Andy Warhol/Marylin Monroe style/ pop-art)

At first I wanted to go for something a bit more brushy, hand written, painted style but some of my people are saying to go with your design
