like it, not sure of font color and diving board would have to be removed. Must work with Navy blue background. Other optional backgrounds for business cards, letterhead would be white, light blue, or gray
Welcome to the final 5. As I informed you before, I like the concept, and this has ranked very high on my panel of friends selected to give input. I am not quite sure how this will work with both a Navy Blye Background as well as a light color background. Please show me your ideas, and leave the font/style as is. It has grown on me. I would like to see the diving board removed from the rectangular pool in the above revision. I would also like you to take a shot at incorporating some sexier curves into the shape of the pool without changing the them/concept. Thanks,
Had my buddy who is helping with web design and marketing put in his 2 cents and his suggestions are below:
1. to try some other font options (just to see if there may be a better/different Look). Suggest: adobe garamond Gotham, Nevis, or Panther. 2. Ask for each logo to be presented on a white as well as black backgrounds ( this will assure it looks good on any application in the future) 3. See if they can integrate a slightly muted color scheme. ("a little lowcountry") something like this grunge/retro.
Please feel free to incorporate any of these into revisions if you think it will better the finished logo.
I went in a different direction a created more of an emblem logo that will work well on any color background. I also changed the font, added some soft curves to the pool, and added a sun.
The way the pool and sun work together it appears that it is sunsetting behind clouds.
Let me know if there is anything else you would like to see.
My suggestions are as follows: 1. I would like to see the upper pool shadowing from #88 in #83, and see if you can incorporate that shade style into the large pool as well. 2. Change the pool border from white to some shade of gray or silver, whatever pops the most. 3. Change the border color around the sun to #88 border color, but keep it the width as in #83. 4. Can we make "Pool Builders, LLC" just a little larger without jeopardizing the balance of the design? 5. Change the shade around "Pool Builders, LLC" to the lighter color orange used in the body of the sun. 6. Option with all changes above except, leave pool shadowing as originally drawn. 7. Any variation of above suggestions, or ideas you have that may work well based off my input. If you have an idea, feel free to present it how you see it. 8. Option of above presented in standard Navy, Auburn Orange, etc 9. Not sure the green has to be added, but am curious to see what you ideas were. 10. Like to see an option with the gray "Camp" lettering in the pool as in drawing #88, add any other changes to tie everything together that you feel is necessary.
Let me know if I need to request an extension so you don't have to work on over the weekend.
Yes. I started on the changes this weekend, but tweaked my neck, ironically, in a swimming pool on Saturday and was laid out for the rest of the weekend.
Back kicking now and am finishing up the updates and will upload them shortly. The "Judging Time" isn't set in stone, so no need to run an extension as I can finish everything up today.
Let me know what you think of the latest. What I am trying to do is make it so the design can be seamlessly used on any background and avoid having two different logos..one for light , one for dark. Which I can do.
An issue arises because because what stands out on a light background is different than what stands out on a black one.
See the detail you put on number #83, the way it comes to a point on each side of the logo, I really like that. I also like the way the blue line is very narrow outlining the lower pool.
In comparison to #101 and #102, The gray pinstripe outlines the entire drawing. I would rather have it just outline the (2) pools and come to a point with a bit of separation as in #83. There is also no need to outline the sun with the gray pinstripe. I think just one Dark orange edge around the sun will suffice. If you need to push up the sun a smidge so it is balanced please do so.
I prefer the lettering of Pool Builders in #101 and #102. What do you think about Dong the inside with light orange and the outside shadow with the darker orange or vice versa, whatever you think.
Not sure how this works. Do I need to award you winner before final revisions, or do I do it ands then you make the final tweaking I request above. Anyhow, it looks great and I would be happy to speak with you on the phone to help make sure I relay the correct information for the final revision.
I will make the final tweaks now and then you can award the winning design when it's 100%. Once you award a winner I am unable to upload here and we have to go back and forth via email, which can be a little more difficult .
I will also give you my email address when a winner is selected (against site rules to provide it before that) so that if you need anything in the future you can contact me that way.
I prefer 108 & 109. The only other request before calling it a day is to change the "white" to a gray, dark enouth to be noticeable outlining the (2) pools on white paper, but not so dark it is drowned out in the navy background. My wife and I disagree on whether the gray should be added. What is your opinion? She does not think a third color needs to be added. I think the gray would help make the image more visual with the white background, and I just kind of saw it with no white when on a navy backgroung. We both love it other than this final detail we are trying to work out. I may agree once I see it, but I'm afraid it may be one of those thing I have to see to feel comfortable awarding thr project as 100% complete. What are your thoughts, and opinion on why ut should or should not be added? Sorry to be a pain in the ass, but I have dreamed of starting this company for too long and this logo will be in place 30 years from now. Kevin
Not a problem at all! I know what a big decision it can be...I owned a landscape design/contracting company before I switched gears to graphics and I remember what it was like choosing my first logo.
#117#118 - I like the grey. I didn't use it at first because I didn't think it went well with the original blue/green color but I now that I look at it I really like it with the new blue. It softens the contrast between the blue/white without dulling the colors. Any darker and it is too close in color to the blue...any lighter and it disappears with the white. Let me know what you guys think.
Again, I know what I big decision this is which is why I give my email address to all of my clients here so if anything comes up in the future and you want to tweak a color or something it is a painless fix :)
I am selecting you as the winner. I need to make sure that you upload the files as eps vector files, the name of the fonts on the winning design, and the name of the font on #86 & #88 if they are different. I have a friend who is helping with marketing material and literature and he requested this information in case we have to make minor tweaks.
