I took the time reviewing you site and the photo and image that stood out to me was the article on MJ I never even came close to seeing Michael but when he died a client of mine who is in the Event Planning industry had the project to provide hosting services for the funeral...she immediately contact me to provide design work for the services...I had 99% of everything done when at last minute..the event changed to another agency, unfortunate my work was never used...but what an amazing opportunity.
I don't know if this is coincidence or you were using it as an inspiration but your design mimics the Love statue created by Robert Indiana... and I am a big fan of it! http://www.ushistory.org/lovepark/more/indiana.htm I don't like flipping the "Z" because I want "Buzz" to be clear & easy to read. But perhaps you can tilt the "U" or some other variation?
love the texture on #88 for sure! I was going to ask how you could add a little color or texture to it - that has a nice feel!
#86 #87 I like what you did with the camera shutter but It made me realize that I'm not a fan of round logos, especially when you have to curve the lettering. I don't want to make anyone work to hard to read the name of the company - I want it to hit them in the face right away :)
I like #107 too! the font is too plain but the border "brackets" remind me of what you see through the viewfinder of a camera. I also like the text on a crooked tilt. maybe try with a more formal lowercase font that's not so "blocky?" Is that a technical designer term? "Blocky?" haha!
#118 This is so close! Maybe make it a darker blue/violet so that it's darker color in the middle and can even fade to black on the edges. The center is just a little too light lavender for my tastes.
Keep the whole thing darker and then it will also continue it's great look in black & white. Thank You!
Sent my contest out to friends & coworkers for feedback and yours is getting a lot of response :)
I change my mind more often than my underwear. I'll be getting lots of outside input to help me choose once I have the final five designs. Thanks again for working with me!
I agree. I put in my original brief to "avoid using cliche camera/film parts." But I gave him some changes to make it more subtle and I'm curious to see what he comes back with. It seems to be a "fan favorite" with people who are NOT in the business. (Family, etc.) They probably think the logo is supposed to have a camera in it. But McDonalds has done well without ever having a burger in their logo.
My top 5 is a solid top 5 but any of them could be the final winner at this point. I have tweaks in mind for all of them to see what develops. Yours is still very strong out of the box.
What do you think your design would look like with a different kind of distressed look... something more fine and "staticy/fuzzy" like #138 or #85 as opposed to the vertical lines/streaks?
#194 is my new favorite. But two other designs are getting more favor as I share with my web team, some PR professionals, family, friends and coworkers. But your design re,minds me of Pulp Fiction and I like it. If it's not chosen in the end, I may contact you in early 2013 when it's time to overhaul my parent company's website and logo. It has a similar two word name so it may fit perfectly to use the same design. Still haven't made up my mind but I just wanted to say thank you for working with me and your continued revisions!
I just taped them all to my office wall to have a fresh look in the morning. I have a head cold... nobody should make a business decision on NyQuil medicine!
