Based on your description I've used a more traditional look with a slightly modern take on the buffalo head. I can upload color versions if you wish, I was inspired by Jack Daniels with the use of just black and white.
I liked the colors on the buffalo emblem that I sent....along with the keys on either side. I would like to add keys to the sides and top and use the redish color for the circle.
The products will be produced in East Aurora, New York. (A suburb of Buffalo) . Cant wait to see what you come up with.
Hi Joe, I'll re-work the logo based on your suggestions. Do you have a larger jpeg of your whiskey logo? It's too small for me to see any details, thus I never saw the keys. You can post a new link to the larger, clearer version of your original logo here on your contest page.
Hi Joe, I found an old poster of the original logo online. The boxes on either side said "Trade - Mark" so trying to maintain some homage to the original this is what I produced. I would not suggest a key at the top as it will unbalance the look and create too much detail...just a suggestion.
I would like to keep the keys but get ride of trade make workding....... I would like for the top to read..."artisan producor of fine spirits".........and feel free to make whatever balance changes that may be necessary when we loose the trade make wording.....we are getting very close. Maybe the clolor outline of the Buffalo could be pure white?
Here is the updated logo, I've added a few tiny changes with the buffalo's beard hanging out of the circle and a couple more stars to the top and bottom rockers.

Glad u like the logo, lots of time has been spent on it. If #6 is the one you like, I would suggest the keys be white (that was my mistake) it will make the logo consistent.
Ok here is the latest version based on your requests. To answer your questions, the logo will be supplied to you as a vector file in an eps format. This will allow you to reproduce the logo from as large as a building to as small as your fingernail without losing any detail. The logo will work with any application you wish to use with...labels, decals, signage, business cards etc. When you pass the logo off to your printer/designer they will know exactly how to utilize it properly.
