#3 : I love the whimsical feel of it but it looks too busy with 2 spools. The more i look at it the more i am tempted to rank it no.1 because of its uniqueness. ( I am worried though that because the wordings are not "contained" enough, customers may have trouble remembering this brand name). Perhaps a colour variation, such as changing the wordings to a grey and the spool to a bright canary yellow to see how it would look. Thanks for this exquisite design though, i really appreciate the thought that went into this, lace trim on one side of the heart is a really nice touch.
#4: A more conventional logo design easy to use on website banner and print advertising. i like it enough to rank it no.1! Perhaps a change of colours to grey background and bright yellow (both heart and spool). sorry to keep imposing those colours on you just very keen on them, may not look too good after all but i need to see it first.
#5: A variation from #4 , i do like its simplicity of only 2 colours used..... If you like, please have a look at my brief updates, i will really like a logo which is photo-like (even though still with the spool of string and heart theme) and i found a good example : www.madeit.com.au
If you want photos incorporated into the design, can you provide any pictures of spools, lace etc, that you own the rights to? This way everyone can incorporate those in their designs. Keep in mind, we are not allowed to find random images we find on the internet, nor are we allowed to use images that are owned by third parties. Few will probably go out of the way to buy and take pictures of pretty spools and/or lace for you, but if you already provide your own pictures, I'm sure some will make designs using them.
Just also an FYI, photographic elements will not reproduce very well in print. To me, hand drawn look vector should be the next best thing, since it has the crafted look to it, while reproducing well in print.
Hi Anna, my contest is ending very soon and I have decided to choose your entry #6 as the winner. Indeed it has been ranked no.1 since I first saw it and despite the many great entries, I still like it the most. May I make a few small changes to it please:
1)Make the spool of string slightly bigger as in #56 .
2)Is it possible to make the wooden spool a darker shade of chocolatey brown (more of a cocoa shade than the current coffee shade). This is me being very pedantic, however if not possible I do prefer the slightly darker colour used in #56 rather than #6.
3)The background colour - can I see 4 different variations please: a) as in #6, b)as in #56, c)a grey colour background like #8 but about 2 shades lighter, d)white background. 4)Love the yellow used in #6, please keep it and make the string on the spool that yellow as well instead of the greeny yellow used currently.
5)Can the words "Budget on a" be changed to a Dark Grey colour instead of white?(except when the background is grey)
So sorry to be so particular , please let me know if anything is a problem or if you need any clarifications. My sincere thanks for your time over the last week producing many great work.
P/S: When the contest is finished will you also give me a copy of the design with no background(so that it can be superimposed )?
Hi Jennifer, here are the revised entries. Some shades may not work on some backgrounds, lighter grays get lost on the textured back, etc. But overall, the colors can be adjusted. I can give you a couple of colour variations at the end.
Thank you thank you thank you! #70 is very nearly perfect, just the yellow used for "heartstring" seems less bright(compared to #6) could you make it stand out more? And the words " Budget on a " exactly looks better in white, but if in white the words "on a" is almost invisible, is there a way around it without making them too large?
