I'm a BYU Grad! This concept is simple & straight forward. It appeals to all relevant demographics, especially college aged youth. Today's world thrives on social networking, which is becoming more and more a part of academic communication's curriculum. This identity reflects a progressive move in that direction, while maintaining a degree of conservatism. Go Cougars!

I agree with you . . . #s 4 and 5 are simple and the conversation bubble subtly highlights the need to communicate. I will definitely discuss this within the department. Thanks for the input.

Some initial feedback from the department- Could we add an additional "MS" so it reads BYUCOMMS?

Great feedback! It's easy to picture this on a t-shirt, mug, office door, etc. This is great simple design that just works. I feel that it communicates very well. Keep the feedback coming!

With #51-52, could you take out "dept. of communications" and add "COMMS" below "BYU" and increase the width of the stroke of the bubble?

Wasn't sure if you wanted official BYU text or newer font face, so I included both!

My opinion, as a designer that has branded over 20 different organizations: #60! After applying your input, I feel even more in love with this idea! As a designer, I'd be excited to use this logo on a brochure, business card, or any other type of promotional piece!

Though #65 is something you would like as well. PLEASE NOTE: You can use both versions of this logo (solid blue, and grey outlined). I'm happy to send the final version in any color variations you need. In fact, I could hand deliver a disk with numerous color options, file formats, and sizes. I'm happy to do whatever I can to help!

Long time! I noticed that you've selected two new logos for 1st & 2nd place. As a brand manager for several large companies (including Fortune 500), I would advise against those two choices. I work for a local marketing agency that can really help give your department the visual upgrade that you need. Please consider. Cheers!
