When reading your brief, what kept popping out at me was the "essence" of video, the symbol itself is represented with the "play button" you also mention video animation so this was lurking in my mind when thinking of ideas for your trademark. and thus this is what i came up with. The square brackets also represent the idea with the initiative you have for the animation.
Reading your comments in the discussion you would like to represent all four words simultaneously, thus the idea behind the logo as well as the animation is using the brackets to open and close with word variations, for example, "brandnew" "newmedia" "brandpartners" "newpartners" "brandmedia" and thus when the completion of the word variation, you have the name present its' "brandnewmediapartners" in a nice flow, then with the icon presenting itself.
The "symbol" also is very well recognized in the media industry with many videos that use the play button in the middle of the videos they play. So this logo is almost verifying you as that brand new media partner for video production.
