my first concept featuring three different typefaces.
i went for typefaces that i think have a bit of a vintage feel , using the colours you posted. I then went about giving it a 3d feel to complete the combination of vintage and web2.0 that you were after.
any feedback / direction will be greatly appreciated.
Bugy - these logos are much too generic. And they are not suitable to scaling down much smaller than the size you've got them at. I need a logo that is more definitive and unique with some creative appeal. keep at it!
ok fair enough, quick question: when you say 'vintage' what sort of time period are you looking at? i was going for a more 1930's / 1940s feel and i notice youve ranked the designs that have more of a 50's style.
thanks for the feedback, theres nothing worse than having a CH put ur stuff in the 'not interested' bin without even saying anything to you =)
this is my attempt at your 'B inside the M' concept. im not sure if i have understood you correctly but i think its a pretty cool and very distinctive letterform mark. i put it on a 45 degree angle because horizontal it looks like 2 B's and vertical looks like two stacked M's. hope you like it. bugy.

yea i was more just trying to get the conept across, ill start tweaking it and submitting variations tomorow, its nearly 2am here =) im glad i finally got something you liked =)
ok so i decided to stay up another 20min while i wait for this other contest to end =) two tone letter mark and a new typeface. Im still reforming it, plenty more variations to come! also, the more specific the feedback you can give the better. thanks, bugy.
your right, having the the two letters split by colours makes them alot more noticeable as individual letters without loosing the unique shape that they make together
different ways of incorporating the text. ( i know you want the text separate form the mark but i like this one so much i couldn't help but submit it =) plus it can easily be separated later, you dont always have to display the logo in the exact same way.
my favorite so far. i played with the text alot and finally got it looking they way i wanted. let me know if there are any changes you want me to make. thanks! bugy
1) Can you come up with a more simplistic font? Less stylized because it detracts from the logo. 2) no gradients in the text 3) put the logo and the text into a horizantal line, rather then logo above the text 4) try and put a small space between the B and M in the logo to make the letters more distinct (try both 1 color logo and two-tone logo)
ok so, horizontal alingment, simplified bold / thin typeface setup, removed all the gradients / shadows etc because i gathered from comments that weren't liking those, also put a gap between the B and M any colour preference ?
#110 #112 im really excited about these, think im onto something here =) its a continuation of my idea that the B represents the brand (your client) and is being improved (looks cooler) due to its interaction with the M, the marinade (you / your company). let me know what you think
bugy - excellent stuff. let me see where to begin...
#116 is one of my favorite. 1) don;t like the colors. can you play around with a couple others? i want to stay away from grey (like #104) but otherwise i like the green and even the aqua blue with a non contrasting neutral (but bold) color. 2) fix the bottom of the M so it is flush with the B like in the other versions. look, it has a bar going towards the back of the B.
#110 is good also. great concept. 1) can you add the second vertical line in the M so it really looks like the letter. 2) again, need to see different color combos
#104 & #105 1) I'd like to see different color combos
For all of them, i'd like to see how to get them text and logo the same relative size. it seems the logo is much larger than the text, which throws off the balance when used together.
thanks for the excellent feedback, really appreciate it. #143 #144 #145 i've shrunk down the logo a bit and made the text a little bigger to get those proportions you where after. i fixed the bottom of the B (it was acctually meant to be another dribble of marinade running along the bottom of the letter B but obviously wasnt working) and changed the drops a bit.
using a stylized 'i' i really like this one, by having the letter mark on one side and the coloured 'i' on the other it gives it a strange kind of balance and makes it very striking whilst still being simple
note: the arrangement of the logo in relation of the text isnt hugely important because if you choose me as the winner i can supply you with a few different ones.
BM Logo - i'd like to see how the B and M can differ slightly. It might only need to be in the the middle where the arches come together. if the B arch came towards the base just a little more than the arch of the M it will help focus the different of the letters.
Dripping "I" 1) I'd like to see the drip in #158 and #152. 2) make the "I" so with the drip, it looks like the lowercase "i" is upside down and lose the "dot" on the "i" from the top. Does that make sense?
#158 1) can you make it so only two colors are used rather than three 2) clean up the drips of the BM. maybe use fewer drips and make them a little more "gravitationally" correct :) if gravity dictated them, the drip would run to the bottom corner.

#203 - i like how you made 3 colors out of two but the logo is a little too abstract to get right away #199 - love this one but the B gets kind of lost. any way to keep the dribbles but keep the boldness of the B? #196 is better than #195. The B doesn't look right in #195.
overall, i like the larger stroke between the B and M in the logo.
i'd like to see how a bold type in "marinade" versus "brand"
thanks for the ongoing feedback! ive posted all the requested variations except for swapping the bold from brand to marinade, im at uni at the moment and dont have that font on this computer so ill do it as soon as i get home.
if you could give me some specific direction on what colour icon + text you want as well as the arrangement and which specific icon so i can put ti all together into one super logo that would be great =)
