We build websites for publishers in support of book launch campaigns.

Black, with Red (or orange) as the accent. The logo will be on a white background, but should be versatile enough to be used on a black background (with an inverse, or slightly different color palette).

The most important word/mark for the logo is "Rocket". The main trouble with most rocket iconography is that they're either too cartoonish or too elaborate. We want to clearly communicate "rocket", without being overly obvious. See the attached, I really like how the rocket is very sleek and becomes part of the "O".

A book icon may be used, but it should only be used so long as it doesn't complicate the logo too much or detract from the clarity of "rocket".

For the font, we envision a sans-serif font with a lighter weight for the word "Book" and a heavier weight for "Rocket". However, please take creative liberty as you see fit. We're fans of the "Novecento Wide" font.

We need something that can be used alone as an Icon, and also be integrated in the "BookRocket" name.

One concept we've played around with is an open book with a rocket in the center seam, with the fire/smoke stream flowing down the middle. Just an idea, but not one we're overly excited about.
