What We Do
Bold Graphics imports a design an converts it into graphics for televisionshows.

Color Preferences
I don't want to interfere the graphic process by specifying colourschemes. However I do want to note that all my competitors have blue in their logo. Bold Graphics wants to be different from those companies which are big and bulky. We are small and dynamic. So if blue could be avoided, that would be great.
Our Ideas & Additional Information
Please note that while the full name is Bold Graphics, which is also the url, we are trying to have people refer to us as Bold.
So the emphasis should be on Bold. "Graphics" is an addition and should not be emphasized.

Hi! Here are some hints for getting the most out of your contest as it progresses:

~~ Rank designs daily -- this will encourage participation.
~~ Rank and re-rank a variety of designs to get a variety of new entries.
~~ Ranking gets your contest noticed! Unless your contest is private, 1st place entries are posted to the portfolio page: https://logotournament.com/portfolio
~~ Ranking designs daily will also keep your contest from getting cluttered.
~~ The more feedback you provide, the better results you are going to see.
~~ Designers are not offended by "Not Interested"
~~ Over-use of "Not Interested" discourages participation.
~~ Ranking is a non-monetary means of showing appreciation for designers hard work.
~~ Designers earn points for designs ranked in the top 10. We like to earn points.

~~ NOTE: While in JUDGING mode, the designer ranked in 1st can still submit revisions.

More detailed information on how to get the most out of your contest can be found here:

Hello everybody,

I have seen many designs already and thank you for that.

I would like to specify what I like and especuially what I don't like in the proposals that I ranked already.

In entry #39 I like the symbol which resembles the lowercase "b" and the uppercase "G" although "GRAPHICS" is not that important in the logo, I like the way it is slightly referred to. It's playful, it's sleek, not too bombastic.

In entry #52 I like the proportions of the symbol in regards to "bold" and "GRAPHICS". I also appreciate the style he used for the word "bold". Although in this entry, I do not like the font but I like that it's not just a regular font. It is stylized. Although here a bit too stylized. The logo can be lighthearted. It doesn't have to be so heavy.

In entry #43 I like the fact that the square which holds the symbol is rounded off. To me this makes it less bulky which I like.

It might be very possible that when the things that I like come together it doesn't look like much. So please don't feel obliged to try and do everything I like.
Also, now it may seem that I'm pushing you towards a logo where the text "bold" and "graphics" have to be next to a symbol and they can't be overstyled.

Maybe you have another idea which rocks, so please go ahead and surprise me.

You don't have to stick what you've seen so far.

Hello everybody,

I think it's time again to enlighten the Top5 again.

In 1st place (entry #147) I like the symbol. Which reflects a "b" in a very simple and elegant way.

Entry #143 is a variation which adds some subtle layers to the "b" which I like because it reflects variation.

Entry #161 is a new one which I like because of the basic shape of the symbol without making it look too simple. You can clearly recognize the b and g in the symbol but because it's placed more in perspective, it gives some extra depth.

Prespective is also why I like the logo in 4th place (entry #124). The rectangle which is placed at an angle with a symbol in there, which makes it a bit 3D-style.
If the rectangle would be a bit thicker and the symbol inside would not just be an ordinary b but something more sophisticated, it would be better I think.

For the record, I don't like an inline ordinary "b". Please give it something extra.

Then in 5th place there's entry #76. I like this logo because of the abstract "bold"-shape but I'm a bit afraid of the readability. People still need to recognize it as being "bold" and not "bdd" or something.

Let me just remind you that I prefer "bold" to be written in lowercase.

Thanks!

Hello everybody,

In these last two days a lot of new entries have been made. Some totally not what I'm looking for, others promising but maybe not suitable for a business logo.

For this last day I would like to share my original idea with you which I had in my mind for a logo. Although I have to say that I'm not completely convinced if it's any good :-)

The companyname is bold which reffered to the graphical term. My initial idea for a logo was to reproduce a button like you see in every text-processing software when you want to put text in bold. It's always a rounded button with a B in it.

Now I've already seen some entries which came close to doing something like that, but I don't want to keep it that simple. The essence should remain the same but do something extra with it.

Let me give an example.
I don't know if you ever saw an ad of BASF, a chemical company. Many people each had a block with them in different shapes. The got lined up at different distances from the camera. When you looked at it from the front, all those different shapes became the logo of BASF.

I wonder if something like that could be created?
So the rounded button with a b on which is dissected into different pieces and placed in perspective.

I looknforward to seeing your ideas.

I'm not sure if will be able to type something here if the contest ends so I'll do it already now :-)

When I started this contest I never could have thought that I would get over 500 proposals. It's unbelievable.

I've seen a lot of great designs, some were a bit too fancy to be usedas a corporate logo, others were a bit to stiff. Finding the right image for your company is not easy :-)

But you guys & girls have given me a lot to choose from and for that you have earned at the very least a BIG thank you!

The current ranking might not yet completely reflect the winning logo. I need some time to see the logo's again and give them a definite ranking.

Thank you all for participating in this contest and probably a next contest.

Sincerely,
Cainnech
