Good morning! Here are two variants of the existing design but with a little type play on the letter O and C ... #94 #95
Stumping head to see what other typography to use... the problem is that it is purely customized, as is the symbol... and if going to change the type will have to swap the symbol also. On it though! ;)
Good morning Rb... Any tweaks you might have in mind, please don't hesitate to leave a comment or pm. If we don't communicate during the day, I wish you a great and very prosperous 2013!
Thank you for your submissions. It is a difficult decision.
In this TOP 5 round please submit a version of the logo with the following additional considerations:
The contest has really helped me define the most important element: the name "BOCK". Imagine "BOCK" on a large building as you're driving down the highway... look over and feel wow that's unique, strong and memorable... something to be proud of seeing everyday as you come to work and see.
"Industries" can be considered less important and can serve main purpose as underlining the "BOCK"
The "Bi" icon is important as well and may be used standalone or with the whole.
Five separate elements in combinations of use: 1) "Bi" icon used alone 2) "BOCK" used alone, for example, on a large building 3) "BOCK Industries" used together, for example, used on a large building or vehicle 4) "BOCK Industries, Animal Welfare Division for example, used on letter head 5) "Bi, BOCK Industries, Animal Welfare Division, used on financial report and very formal documents.
Even though i myself read BOCK and not BOOK (and fellow colleagues) here is the initial custom typography #130. It does not bother me one bit, it's also clean and bold, but just has a small absence of flair.
Pounding my head on this and believe I have a direction for resolution. This has given me a great appreciation for the creative process involved. Thanks for you gracious help. Two minor variants in mind as follows:
1) To address quick readability vary # 120 as follows: Regarding the "O" and "C" in BOCK, I guess this is confusing the American eye (I do think it is nice), so simply leave them in their current location but now "fill in" the thin white break so the letters are touching/overlapping but completely solid. The break will be removed and the "O" and "C" will share a common geometry. Use your eye for spacing / symmetry to check the resulting spacing of the "B" and "K". The vertical like of the "K" may need a slight thickening or pushed over. I think you'll see what I mean regarding spacing when the "O" and ""C" are connected. Use your judgement.
2) Would like to see 1) but with the little triangle removed.
3) Would like to see 1) but using the orange shade similar as given in #81. (a bit more red is what we would like to see)
A lot of words, but hopefully not too much difficulty for you.
I will be available all day for questions if needed.
Here you go Randall... #131 / overlapping with no cut #132 / overlapping with no cut and no triangle #133 / overlapping with variant orange #134 / overlapping with no cut variant orange
Have to say, you are one of the most thorough contest holders i've ever worked with... excellent comments and great feedback!
#137 is uploaded... Randall... one small favor if you can... if you pick 137, let me upload the same design with the gradient background.... i like my portfolio to have the same look and feel to it... if you don't mind.
Michael, Can I receive the logo as #138, #137, #136. If not... can I receive #138... Will it be possible for me to remove the gradient and triangle if I needed to do so?
