Our Ideas & Additional Information
We need a label designed for our flagship beer "Georgia Uncommon". It is an american style IPA.

The label is for a standard 12 oz aluminum can with dimensions of 4.5" high by 8.25" in circumference. The top 0.5" of the can is sloped toward the lid and not on the can's flat surface, so it should either be a solid color or left transparent. Make sure to keep in mind that this can will have a shiny aluminum background underneath all colors. We can have as many as 6 colors in the label. A space for a UPC code should be included. Also, we need a space for a product discription of approx. 50-125 words (we have not decided on the wording as of yet) which should be located on the "back" of the can.

We have included an image of our logo which we would like on the label. It may be uses with or without the Brewery's Name on it.

Hello! Here are some hints for getting the most out of your contest as it progresses:

~~ Rank designs daily -- this will encourage participation.
~~ Rank a variety of designs to get a variety of entries.
~~ Ranking gets your contest noticed! Unless your contest is Private, 1st place entries are posted to the portfolio page: https://logotournament.com/portfolio
~~ Leave private feedback by clicking on a design. Feedback will be made public upon contest completion
~~ The more feedback you provide, the better results you will see.
~~ Designers are not offended by "Not Interested".
~~ Over-use of "Not Interested" discourages participation.
~~ Designers earn points for designs ranked 1st - 10th. We like to earn points.
~~ After your contest closes it will enter Judging phase. You can re-rank designs in Judging.
~~ While in Judging, the designer ranked in first place can submit revisions

Hi - I don't know about everyone else, but I have a few questions :) Do you have any established themes/labeling? Can you tell us a little about Blue Tarp Brewing so we can get a sense for your brews' personality - or maybe another craft brewer that you're more in line with (More geared towards Great Divide, Rogue, Stone, Dogfish Head, etc. or more serious like 2 Brothers, Abitas, Firestone Walker, etc.) That might help some of us a little bit. Thanks!

Are u looking for a logo or a can label design?

We are not looking for a logo. We are looking for a can label. Our Brewery name is "BlueTarp Brewing Co.". Our first product's (1st beer) name is "Georgia Uncommon".

Unfortunately we don't have any established themes/labeling. We are having a hard time coming up with ideas on our own and designing is not our forte. We don't want to be too serious or clean cut. We want our image to be easy going/witty with a little sophistication (not too out there - like Flying Dog etc.) The only real requirements are to include our logo image and maybe using blue (not an absolute requirement to use blue).

The mention of a silver background was for your reference because this label will be printed on an aluminum can. Not so that it could be incorporated into the image.

Brewery packaging that we like are(not listed in order of preference): Dog Fish Head, Victory, New Belgium, Founders, 21st Amendment, Avery, Bridgeport, and Bell's.

Hope this clears things up a bit.

These designs are a little more in line with what we were hoping for. If you could submit a full rectangular format [4.5(h)x8.25(w] that would be great or at least a front and back for the can.

Thanks All - Keep 'em coming!

The designs that don't have "GU" in such a prominent text are more appealing to us. The "G"'s or "GU" faded into the background looks better.

Extended: The contest holder requested an extensions as the entries are starting to match requirements and just needs a little more time to work with designers.

I will be re-ranking a little later today and leaving personal comments when I get the time.

We would like to move away from having "GU" on the can.

Sorry for such a late notice on changing such a large element in most of the designs, but "GU" just seemed to take over the can and we really want to the brewery itself to get the attention.

any chance of getting the vector version of the company logo?

I should have included the .ai file for the logo to begin with. I will see if I can load it up. It is not the cleanest file - I did it myself and it was my first time using Illustrator.

I can't post the file to logotournament - it's too large.

I have posted it on our website. There is a link on this page http://www.bluetarpbrew.com/logo.html

or you can paste this link to download http://www.bluetarpbrew.com/Final.zip

Any changes required during judging mode can be done all you need to do is re-rank that designer to first place in order to allow the upload.

Thanks to everyone for all the work and great ideas!

We are torn right now between the first few positions and it will take us a few days to figure this out.

We would like a few revisions and will be re-ranking shortly.

Thanks again,

Tom
