#6: I really like the abstract nature of the circle (I wish I could see it even bigger on my computer so I can see what you've got going on there). I see the grooves of a record and a strip of film, in a circle which suggests a comforting unity -- very nice! I wonder if the B in the middle, although elegant, clutters it a bit too much? Although, on the other hand, I like the B because I feel I could remove the words in some applications and just use the graphic, and the B would connote the company name. I like the gold color a lot, but am less thrilled about the blue.
I don't love the font you've used for BLOOMBABER -- it seems thicker and boxier than I would have preferred (too informal). However, I love that wave effect you've got going through it, which suggests a sound wave -- and I realize you probably need a thick font to make that effect apparent. I'd be really interested in seeing this effect done with a different font, and with the wave looking even more like a sound wave (sharper and perhaps more numerous peaks and valleys).
Finally, I'm not sure about the font for "music design." Again, it seems too informal, but it kind of has to work in service of the BLOOMBABER, so I'll kind of withhold judgment on this until we get the font for BLOOMBABER locked down.
Really interesting stuff here. Grazie mille and I look forward to seeing what you do next.
#10: Wow -- I am LOVING the circle graphic now! Utterly cool. I hope you'll allow me tinker a little bit: I would be interested in seeing you try to make two changes, either within the same design or as two separate options:
1) put a hole in the middle of it (or half a hole) to further clarify that the left side is a record; and/or 2) turn the single B into a BB, but with a level of abstraction similar to what you've got now. (It may also help my major -- perhaps only -- problem with the current circle, which is that the B in the middle strikes the immediate eye as a crescent moon shape.)
I'm not sure either of these will be an improvement; what you've got now is really great.
The background is a bit dull; could we go darker with it, or create some feeling of depth somehow? I'm also curious how we'd transform this to go on a white background, since the logo will most often appear on paper documents.
Finally, the font: It's a definite improvement. At first, I didn't like the M, because I felt like it drew attention away from the circle; then I saw that it was your interpretation of the sound wave, and I liked it a little more (plus, it suggests "Michael" -- my first name -- to clients who know me), but it still doesn't quite work for me. I would perhaps try to make the peaks uneven so the connotation is clearer (and make the A into a proper A). Or maybe we do away with this idea altogether to platform the circle graphic more. As for the "music design," again, we'll have to see how it plays with what you come up with for the top -- but it may be a touch too big. Or maybe, if it retains this size, you should delete the line in between. We'll have to see what works with your BLOOMBABER as it evolves...
hei BB, tnx for your suggestions ... i will work on and i will be back with more than one new entries. now i am going out couse tonight there is a party in my town and i need to relax my brain ...
hope you understand but stay tuned ... you could find your final logo just tommorrow .... ;)
The sound wave idea, I think, is not working. I think the concept comes across, but it perhaps makes it all too busy. It would be nice to really open up the font library and try some fresh ideas for the words.
As for the symbol -- which is really what I love most about your design -- I prefer it in its earlier incarnation (#10), where the center looks better/simpler and I think it looks better against the dark background. I'm still curious to see what the center would look like as a tiny hole, like the center of a record, and/or with two B's instead of one.
There's a depth to the icon in #6 and #10 that is lost in #67. (Do we need to add the blue back in?) And I'm sorry, but I don't like any of the lettering in #67 -- the fonts or the spacing.
Thank you so much. The circle looks even more amazing on black (#92), and the glowing one (#93) e meraviglioso!
(Ho studiato l'italiano para due anni all'universitá, ma ho dimenticato molto.)(Quello era un molto tempo fa.)
I have only three problems with the design now:
1) The font. Maybe something "younger"? It feels too "old." You said "i have more than one fonts but this is the best near the icon about professionality, strength, precision and sense of experience," but maybe it needs to say "bold, creative, daring and strong."
I think my other two problems (the M and the way it looks on white) will go away when we find the perfect font.
Have a great weekend, and I am excited to see your next revisions!
#109: I like the circle on top of the word, but I still don't like the sound wave (it makes it too busy/cluttered for me) and the "music solutions for moving pictures" is far too small.
The "BLOOMBABER" font is 100% better...but I'm still curious to see what other ideas you might have there.
I like the circle bigger! I don't like the lighting effect on the lettering. I think you should use EITHER "music design" OR "music solutions for moving pictures" -- not both.
I'd like to see "bloombaber" dominate "music design" more in your concepts, like #109.
#111 and #112 are a big improvement, for me. Thank you very much!
I'll say again, I am IN LOVE with the circle graphic. I'm going to sit with your new designs for a few days and see how I feel Monday or Tuesday. If you have time, you may think of ways to make this logo look good on white. I LOVE it on black, but in #68 the circle appears too light, and in #67, too flat.
Thank you so much for all you're doing, LG. I feel lucky to have your talent applied to my project!
