#302 nice work!! keep throwing some ideas on that and keep the colors straight so we can see what it would look like screen printed. thanks!!

Thank you for the feedback.

I've uploaded #304, simplifying the colors to be easier to print.

Let me know if this is what you meant color-wise in your comment.

as you can see you have made it to the top 5. congrats!! a few things. first off we would like to spell out manufacturing if possible rather than MFG. can we do this and still make it look good? and since I am screen printing and embroidering we need to keep straight colors without fading etc. please feel free to keep detailing this idea and adding/subtracting anything you feel would be beneficial. maybe detailing out the caliper a little more? maybe that would make it to cluttered? job well done!

Thanks!

I'll try more variations and ideas over the next two days. Anytime you have anything to add, please don't hesitate.

what about adding a few dimension lines? could we give it a cool effect that way or crash it?? just a thought. I see tshirts sometimes that have that and they catch my interest....may be a little tough here.

thanks!

I don't know how it'll look. I'll get it done and you'll review the result. :)

i like that...we will see what the other guys think. also they are requesting manufacturing is spelled out rather than MFG...thoughts on that?

Logo Designer
I just uploaded a versions with Manufacturing spelled out.

I like how the lines turned out too.

On #415, I've also updated the caliper`s design as well as it's colors, having in mind that you'll use screen printing for the logo.

nice work. a few more things (youll get tired of me yet)
lets loose the INC.
i am looking to screen print this so any glares etc i think would have to be flat colors? i am looking around but not sure you can do fading with screen printing/embroidering?
can we add another line or 2 to the dimension line on anything? maybe it will be too much?
our website it bigbmfg.com. if there is any way to incorporate that somewhere on here that it looks good lets try it, again if it will be too much then lets leave it out.
sorry! just trying different things!

I won't get tired. I understand a clients need to see all available options. :)

About the colors, I know it's possible to screen print some gradients but you'll need a good printing company and a good layered file. It would probably take a few tries, but it's doable.

On the other hand, the color scheme can be easily transformed from a web version, with some gradient features, to a screen-print ready file with flat colors. Visually, there won't be a significant change. If we're not talking about radial gradients, the linear ones (horizontal or vertical) can be made from two, three object on top of each other.

About the website link, I will do some versions with it. I don't think it'll crowd the design as I plan to do it in a shade of gray. Either way, for your website, you can use the version without the URL in it. For other uses, you can opt for the version that includes the link.

I'll start working on it to see where it fits best.

PS: I fear I'm becoming tiresome. Let me know if that's the case.

Just pointing out #416 if you're trying to promote your website somewhere. :)

#420. I like this...a lot! what do you think? is it too cluttered? that hits it home for me, i will share this with my team to see what they think.

Client
the only thing i might want to change is the website on the bottom instead of the top...on the dimension line.
and not at all, your doing great work!

Logo Designer
I initially placed it on the top part because I thought it "weighted" more on the left. I'll do a version on the right side, to see how it looks.

I wouldn't say it's cluttered, especially after you told me to take out the .INC.

Uploaded three options with the link on the bottom-right side. Also deleted and added / deleted a few lines / arrows.

Hi,

There may be a small issue. A designer has just claimed the dimensional lines you've asked for as 'his concept / idea'.

I did point out the fact that you specifically asked for them and measuring elements aren't uncommon for a manufacturing / fab shop.

I will try to get my idea across and with a bit of common sense from others this will get sorted out in a timely manner.

Sorry for any inconveniences!

I don't think there is a small issue at all, considering he added them because I directed him to!! theoretically it was originally my idea. let me know if there is anything I can do to help you with this issue.

thanks!

Wow, that was unexpected. He didn't mention that you directed him to use the lines. That should be enough to clear things up.

I do apologize, I did have talk with him about adding dimensions....so I am not sure how that can be taken... I did not exactly specify dimensional lines.

Unfortunately I cannot see the feedback section for other designers so I'm basically blindsided there. I have asked LT admin to step in and sort this out.

Again, sorry for this.

Client
not a problem at all, I asked you to do it, so you did as I asked. let me know how this turns out.

thanks for hanging in here!

Logo Designer
Well, it can go out three or four ways. Either with Ivan`s (admin) intervention, with all the entries intact, with the entries without the dimension lines or with me being tossed out altogether from your contest for using them.

At this point I'm too stressed and upset about some public comments from the designer according to whom I'm ripping him off, to clearly see an outcome for this situation. That is why I've asked for the staff's help.

Logo Designer
Hi again Skip.

Like I said, I contacted LT support for this matter, but I'm unsure when they'll answer or what the answer will be. Since I cannot know what you've requested and what the other designer has uploaded, I don't want to risk being thrown out from this contest while also getting Violation Points (a cumulative punishment that adds up to being kicked off the site if you gather a certain amount of VPs).

Also, while this dispute is opened, I am locked out from every other contest. That means I cannot submit my works on any contest until the current situation is resolved.

I think the most productive way to handle it at the moment, is to withdraw the designs that have been brought into question and wait for the Admin assessment. Meanwhile, I will be free to work up other variations for your logo that you may as well like, without the dimensional lines.

Even by withdrawing them, I will still get 10 Violation Points, but I hope that Support will see the whole picture and take the necessary actions. I also hope that everyone will not see my withdrawing as an admission of guild, because I honestly fell right in the middle.

Now, if you have other ideas you'd like me to test out for the design, I am more than willing to do them. As soon as I withdraw the entries, I will upload the same design with your website link in it, but with no dimensional lines.

I am really sorry and again, I hope you understand the situation I found myself in.

Andrei,

I apologize for getting both of us in this situation, more you than myself as this affects you entirely for this site, or has the potential to do so. I can tell you this, I absolutely had no intention on this, nor was I even thinking about the design he submitted with these lines. it was simply something I have seen in the past and thought it was a neat affect. I hope you can trust that I have not intentionally put you in this position, and if anything tell the admin to talk to me about this incident. you simply did what I asked of you. bottom line is keep me in the loop if there is anything I can do to help regardless of what I can do to help.

thanks,

I am 100% sure you had no intention and I can imagine it's hard to keep track of hundreds of entries plus what you've seen outside Logo Tournament. So you have nothing to apologize for, honestly.

Now, I would like to shift my attention more to the designing part of today rather than sit on a situation on which I have no control over. If I were to ask you something, it would be an honest opinion on how much the lines weigh in on your decision and if you still want to work on this design.

If in fact the design still has your attention, please let me know what you (and your team) think and if you want to add/change anything.

Thank you!

#437 & #438 I think are the same? #438 certainly has our attention. I can not think of anything we can add without getting too cluttered...do you have any suggestions? I may work on a punch line to go with it, but I am not certain I will like it. I will keep you posted
10 years ago

Logo Designer
#437 & #438 yes, there is a difference between them. Look at the shape behind the 'big'. One is the original rounded rectangle and one has a straight corner to it.

I'm trying to see if anything goes on the artboard. Once I have something, I will upload it.

Logo Designer
I have uploaded #440 and #439 one with the 3D wireframe for the shape behind 'big' and the on the other one I included a PSI meter gradation.

Client
I do like #439. what if we decide to add some color to it? nothing exotic, but some color? I am looking for something that could either be screen printed AND embroidered, or have 2 separate ones. having 2 separate would allow you to do some fading if wanted and then have a embroidering one with more defined lines. any thoughts?

Logo Designer
That's just a change in color scheme and layering. For the printing one, the colors will be flat and each color on it's own separate layer.

The web and normal printing version can have gradients and shines.

Logo Designer
Ok, it's probably a whole lot easier if I just upload the flat colored version.

We have #446, which uses only flat colors. No gradients. I can tweak it even more and we'll get pretty close look-alike to #438, which has a few transparency masks and quite a few gradients.

I also did #447, adding a Pantone 309M to the B.

If you want, I'll work to translate #446 better into flat colors.

good deal. guess tomorrow I present it to my team one last time and we make a decision.
did anything come thru with the issue we had earlier?
thanks for all you have done.

I was on top of that issue most of the day. Ivan (admin) joined the discussion and he also looked through all the comments that were made. His decision was that you didn't lead the designer to add the lines nor did you specifically told him to do them.

He also said that in his opinion, dimensional lines, even if they are a common thing/tool in a machine shop, in the logo he didn't considered them as being a common element, thus I cannot use it.

This means that the other designer is the only one who can use them for your contest, unless he says otherwise.

I'm sure it's not the outcome you've hoped for and of course it's not what I hoped for, and I'm genuinely sorry for that. On the other hand I don't think that was the center piece of the logo.

Cruel day, this was. I'm sure I'm going to dream about lines tonight. :)
