I like the "neatness" of 17th Wonderful work!
Can you make Solutions worth knowing more intense, more sparkling, more "there"?
Also can you have in capital the Solutions Worth Knowing?
Can the green be more "sparkling"?
Thank you!

Wow, thank you for the rank!

I am a little unsure of what "sparkle" means to you. Is there a logo that you have seen that "sparkles"? If you have an example you can show me, that would be great.

Hi there! I am wondering: when you say "We would like the logo to be able to be cut in straight lines like and make sense" are you saying that we need to have lines in the logo? Or just that if the logo was on a sheet of paper, for example, and we were to cut vertical lines into it that the words "BLD" and "Better Life Day" would still be aligned straight with each other? Is my current first ranked logo (#88) "able to be cut in straight lines like and make sense"....?

Thank you in advance for the clarification! -Jennifer

This is the correct: just that if the logo was on a sheet of paper, for example, and we were to cut vertical lines into it that the words "BLD" and "Better Life Day" would still be aligned straight with each other.

Great to hear. And I'm glad you're liking my designs! If you have any other revisions you would like me to make, let me know. I'm happy to do that.

If you're already decided on a design though, you can end the contest at anytime (as long as you got at least 30 entries in your contest, which you've got now). Alternate formats of the files, such as AI, PNG, JPG, et cetera, are available to you upon request. If you have any questions about this process, let me know.

Hello Jennifer,
Great work! We love your designs.
We would like #161 in black background.
As final deliverable we would like the logo and everything below in black, white.
High resolution, low resolutution.
We would like separably the BLD, Better Life Day, Solutions worth spreading and the sparkle (cut).
We would like paper stationary (the e-file).
Power point template
and the logo in AI, PNG, JPG and anything you think we might need!

Thank you!

Excellent!

Then, you will need to choose #161 as the final logo. The way you do that is through what I believe is a tab at the upper right-hand side of your screen, it will say "complete contest" or "end contest" or something like that. I haven't seen it myself, but I hear that is where it is (because the Client's screen and Designer's screen are not exactly the same, and I've never seen the Client screen in person). If you investigate all the tabs at the top of your screen you'll see what I am referring to. Just start clicking around, and drop-down menus should appear for you if the option to do this isn't that obvious at this point.

So after you do that, Design #161 is then declared the contest winner. Then, I will prepare the files for just #161's version (in white) and upload them to LogoTournament to have you approve the winning design's files. The system currently only allows me to upload one JPG and one EPS for you to review before you give your final approval. And those two file types can only show the winning logo's version (in white), even though you will get it with a black background (or any other color background) after the contest ends. This is because in the LogoTournament world, a different background (even for the same design) is considered an entirely different submission due to technical limitations of the LogoTournament system, even though it is the same logo with just a different background. I know, it's weird -- that's the limitation of the system though. And the way we deal with that is through acceptance of the one logo, then other backgrounds and file formats being sent later on, directly to you.

When you see the JPG, you will be seeing what the EPS file looks like too. If you don't have a file viewer to view the EPS that's okay, because the JPG will show you what the EPS will display like.

So after I've uploaded these final files for you to review and approve (which will only be a JPG and an EPS file), you click the "Approve" link under the "My Account" tab, then under that click "My Ended contests." Once you click this link you will automatically release final funds and get the logo for #161. After that, I can send you all the other versions you need -- different backgrounds, file formats (PNG, AI, hi-res, etc.), and I'll do that via the e-mail address that is in the contract that automatically generates after I am declared winner. And yes -- these other formats are not major changes to the logo design itself, so there is no extra charge for them.

Please note: I cannot send you these other versions/formats before I am officially declared the winner, as that would be a violation of LogoTournament rules. I've done this for Clients before, and it is standard practice for all Designers to mail other formats to the Clients after they have been paid for the winning logo (even if it's just a background color change).

If you have any technical difficulties at all, you can also use the "HELP" tab at the top of your screen to ask Admin for help in doing this. Let them know you want to choose #161 as the winning logo, and you need assistance to do this. You probably don't need to hail them unless you can't find the way to end the contest on your own (because if you do it on your own it will be quicker), but if you can't find a way to get it done on your own, feel free to ask the Admin folks to help you get it done.

Have a great day! If you have any other issues, do not hesitate to ask.

I re-read your comment from earlier, and realized you were asking for #161 to be submitted with a black background. And, it's a little difficult to tell which one it is, so I'll let you know: it's actually #160. As a result of your feedback, I don't think it was easy for folks to tell that it was only the background that was different.

So because the colors of the "Solutions Worth Knowing" are not as recognizable with a black background as they are with the white background, I decided to clarify them, to help the viewer recognize the logo better when it is in black and also in white. I've submitted two adjusted versions, #191 and #192. In both versions, you can see that the logo is the same one, regardless of the background, which is good.

If there are any other backgrounds you'd like to see, let me know. Thanks!

Thank you so much for your great work Jennifer.
The logo is too close to TED and we want to avoid any future challenges!

OH My Lord. You couldn't have told me that BEFORE all of this? And...no, bold text is not too close to TED. If if was, all bold text would be challengeable by TED and invalid. AND your company name is placed UNDER the bold text -- not even to the right of it. AND it is in small UPPERCASE letters, unlike the TED logo. The placement of the name alone, and its weight, should have been obvious to you, that it could not have been challengeable by TED. Not that it matters; another point that makes it different: the sparkle. That is DISTINCTIVE. Also another reason you would not be able to be sued. The percentage of elements that make this different -- placement of name written out, three different fonts used, twinkle element, color, gradient -- is 80% DIFFERENT, which would make any lawsuit unsuccessful against you.

WHY do I know this? BECAUSE I HAVE OVER 14 years experience. I confront these issues all the time. Do you SERIOUSLY believe that I would have allowed ANY design to get too close to yours? I care about my Clients, I care about LogoTournament, and most of all...I care about MYSELF! I would NEVER have allowed myself -- my design reputation -- to be part of any design that would be suable.

I invested hours upon hours...DAYS....in this logo. If you wanted something different because of this concern, you SHOULD have told me; I would have given you a quality logo that met your needs! My work is above and beyond anyone else's in this contest, I guarantee you that. So what did you do? You chose another one that isn't what you wanted, just because you had a fear that what you wanted could get you in trouble (which it didn't!)...so congratulations on choosing a logo that isn't what you wanted or needed.

I AVOIDED ENTERING OTHER CONTESTS because I didn't have time to spare -- you took up all of it!

I entered YOUR contest and it took up SO MUCH of my time, I didn't have time to do anything else! And this is how you treat me in the end? DO you realize I am a human being who deserved the decency of a "okay, you're our Designer, let's do something different"....?

YOU SHOULD have come to me to "fix" it -- EVEN THOUGH it didn't need fixing -- and I would have given you something you really wanted, something better than what was chosen out of fear. The design you chose uses bold text and light-weight font too. If it was too close to use these things, the logo you chose would get you into trouble as well.

Because your company name is UNDER the bold initials, you should have at least seen that and realized your fears were not justified. Again, the logo I designed is 80% DIFFERENT than the TED logo, according to trademark law. I would have gladly told you that if you had asked.

You don't even know what your contest meant to me....or how much I really needed this win. And it isn't even for Christmas presents that I needed this win; it's worse than that.....this prize money was desperately needed, I really can't even begin to tell you just how much it would have made a difference in my life.

You should have come to me. I would have helped you get the logo you really wanted, and I would have given you rock-solid proof that you could get this logo and be fine with the US Patent Office. I do it for other Clients all the time.

Again...you should have come to me. I'd have helped you get what you wanted.
