Thanks for reviewing my entries. I saw SF Bay Area and figured I had to join, I was raised in the and lived most my life in the Bay Area (currently in Sacramento area), but the Bay Area is what I call "home". :)
Anyway, I figured I'll throw in a few entries and see what direction to take it from there. I figured I would use the treble clef to represent music/theater/arts and the forks to represent everything dining. And of course the bridge to tie it all together. I could also add some grapes, skyline... but I wanted to keep it simple and then expand depending on what you may want to see. For entry #8 and #9 my thought was that if your reviews are broken down to day events and night life, a simple color change can of the same icon could be used.
Your feedback and thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Feel free to make any suggestions.
Thanks!
Marcelo
BTW - Are you the same Adrianne associated with the Marin Mystery Theatre?
Okay here goes: Not a big fan of the red and green logos / of the split night and day or that SF is being "inserted" in. Also not sure we want the sunrise or the moon in the middle...
I'd like to see all font black except "SF", with SF being the bridge red maybe?
the light blue background is good. Maybe we can see the skylines how you were describing above?
Appreciate the feedback. :) I'll start making the revisions, not really a fan of the day/night split either, but I wanted to offer up a few option as starting points and ideas for more direction.
I had read about the theatre group a while back. I remember the group because there was a musician/artist that wanted to do something similar in the Bay Area back in the late 80's, but then ended moving the idea to L.A.). I used to be more in the scene when I was younger, and even had the opportunity to direct actress Rita Moreno with the cast of Beach Blanket Babylon, for a PSA when I was only 23yo. My father was in theatre before going into film production and then advertising, so it was something I was raised with.
Anyway, I see that the contest went into Top 5 so you would need to rank us in order for a a submit button to be available. I'll do a skyline, but any additional thoughts that you may have or if there are logos you have seen and really like, please let me know so I can get a better idea of the style you prefer.
Ok we like 30 the best so far, like the skyline in the orange / red but the trolley should be a different color.. more like a fire engine red and yellowish wood color (google the SF trolleys)... and we like the black outline of 31... can you incorporate all of this into 1? And maybe the trolley bigger like in 31..
No problem on all counts. :) I have plenty of trolly pictures for reference. I was not to sure if I should limit the color or not. I'll redo them to reflect the cable cars more realistically. Also, my intention on the blue to white fade was symbolic of the fog, but I do a version a bit more pronounced like this ( http://3ef44ac2a814e81509fd-288404e13f895703cf2798bf6ae95228.r56.cf1.rackcdn.com/758851227787-223.png ). I'll also do a few more colors in the mix, just to see how that looks.
I hope I got the instructions right. For #42 I extended the blue (sky) to white (fog) fade to make it more pronounced then my earlier renditions. On others I added the fog billow (let me know if you feel that they obscure the fork too much). Also, for #41 I curved the trolly for a more cartoony feel (just as an option).
Let me know if you need any other changes or if I missed anything.
Thanks.
If you celebrate it... Happy Easter to you and your family. :)
So sorry for the delay.. I was ill end of last week and we had our baby shower this weekend.. I will get back to you ASAP with final decisions.. etc.. we had the contest ended a few days only so I can have you fine tune the logo =)
I hope your feeling better. I just wanted to be sure, that I did not miss something you were waiting for. I'll make the SF with a more collegiate look. (We can't use make it too precise as it might violate their trademark.)
As with the bottle, I'll try both the bottle in the building silhouette , and the build as a bottle.
BTW - I believe a congratulations is in order for you and your husband :)
I like the new SF better but don't like the trolley cutting the bridge off.. #48 is the best so far fro the wine bottles, but maybe too many wine bottles. can you remove the one in front and the 2 on the left.. just keeping the one on the right. Make trolley not cut off bridge like in #45 and #42
#54 it is! great thank you so much! Will you be able to send me the low and high res PDFs as well as InDesign files? once I select this as the winner of course?
After the contest end files must be upload is both an EPS and JPEG so the Logotournament automated process is completed. However, as most designers, I usually also send additional files as png, pdf and the the original Adobe Illustrator file. These additional files must be emailed directly to you after the contest is complete and the LT files have been uploaded. The eps can be used for placing in InDesign, the native files can also be cut and pasted into InDesign, so that should not be a problem. :)
I heard about you when I read about the Mystery Theatre. (See my comment above). What I did not realize until a couple of weeks back, is that you had the logo for the Mystery Theatre done here on Logotournament. I'm glad you came back to use LT again.
If there is any other thing you need to see changed, just be sure to ask.
