Thank you for the opportunity to submit #9 and #10 for your consideration.
Sophisticated, expensive, serious, and elegant—as requested. The shield serves as a stand-alone icon as well.
Your feedback and requests are always encouraged and welcomed!

Thank you for your submission; more classic and traditional font; sharp clean lines. Sharpen up logo and edges. Moving in the right direction

#49 and #50 — altered the top of the shield to suggest the top of a podium; a grad cap; a building. Almost subliminal, but a nice touch I thought I would share.
Feedback and requests always welcomed. Want you to end up with a logo you truly love.
Thank you!

Could you please add an A in with the B?

Certainly! #81, #82, and #83 include both letters. Your feedback and requests are always welcomed! Trying my best to help design a logo you, the faculty, student, parents, and the community there in Des Moines will love and embrace as part of your new and lasting tradition.

#99 - an optional shield shape.

#102 can you replace the apple with an oak tree?

Pax
Logo Designer
I could, but another designer has already used a tree. We have strict rules not to copy.
If you change/add-to your brief and ask that a tree be incorporated, everyone has a fair chance and I can create the logo you're requesting.
Would love to accommodate you.
Many thanks!

Enjoying this contest very much. Trying to keep in mind that this logo may be used on uniforms, other clothing, decals, mugs, seals, signage, etc. so the goal is to create something that reproduces well at any size (especially small; business cards and such) and can be embroidered well. If there's anything to consider as I go along, please share? Thanks so much.

The new submission - #122 - is the same as #82 (ranked 2nd) but with the bold weight of the font.
Thanks!

Also wanted you to have #123 -- which is #118 with the bolder font. (Century Schoolbook is used in #118 while Trajan Bold is used in #123.)

#118 can you incorporate BA into the tree? Possible in White and make Bergman Academy side by side? Thanks!

Client
#125 could you make Bergman Academy side by side? And the BA bold and the shield wider? We are looking for a logo that is bold and sophisticated but simple.

Yes, my pleasure. Will work on these this evening and submit soon. Thank you!

#125 some feedback from our board of directors. Possible incase the crest in a circle with Bergman Academy in that? Possibly a founding date.

Thank you for the input and direction. For the first request, I've created and submitted:
#132 — Bergman Academy side-by-side
#134 — Bergman Academy side-by-side in a thicker weight of the font
#132 — Bergman Academy side-by-side with a wider, bolder shield
I am creating the circle-encased shield designs and will upload them soon.
Many thanks!

Typo in earlier comment: #135, not 132, has the wider, bolder shield.

#136 offers visual modularity — as an entire seal; the shield as a stand-alone element — and will print well in any color against any color.

#136 and #137 feedback is there is something with the crest that confuses the eye. Can we do a couple different options within the circle. Feedback is good on this one. Thanks!

Pax
Logo Designer
Sure, my pleasure. Any more specifics on the confusion? Too large, too wide, etc.?
I'll see what I can do in the meantime. Thanks!

Client
the feedback is that the diagonal in the shield is distracting and the asymmetrical and they don't love the shape.

Client
Could we do a couple with just and A in the new shield. Someone had feedback that BA together looks strange and can be interpreted differently. Still trying to avoid a book, apple, graduation hat etc. Thank you for your cooperation!

Pax- below are some comments from our Board. Thank you for all my feedback on this. I'm managing 10 " decision makers" and it's not easy.
1. Tree inside circle with/without "Founded 1977"

2. "Tree as is" but with several font variations (do you like Trebuchet as shown in attached?)

3. "Tree as is" but reintroduce green as accent either for tree or "Founded 1977"

4. Stylized version of tree

I'm creating new versions right now. I understand your task and I can empathize with the "logo by committee" dynamic. As a 25-year ad agency creative director, I'm way too familiar with it. It may help to remind them that once they choose a winner, I can tweak and revise after the contest to get it 'perfect'; all nodding heads around the board table. It may be there are too 'many' options within the preferred range. Let me know how I can help. -Geoff

We're in the finalist stage of the contest and I've entered over 100 designs. If it's possible to choose one direction/approach at this point and work within it, we can focus efforts toward refining the top runner. Also, as I was searching for tree visuals as inspiration I found this which I feel may be important to consider:

Our tree, typeface, and overall treatment are different enough. We have strong contenders with it and the shield options in my opinion.

I believe you can but before i give the full green light let's give them the evening to come back to the survey. I am 99.9% that we are good to go. I greatly appreciate your patience and effort in this contest. It's been tedious to say the least! Thank you!
