Hi. Here's my concept for your contest.

Stunning. Not crazy about the text side. Sorry, but I can be that blunt because the icon is so fabulous. It's like saying, Sing! my beautiful songbird. But please don't dance. <-- whoops, crossed the line there.

lol, that's funny. I'll do something about the text ASAP

So, you are leaning towards a block style on the font. I have about as much style sense as Leonard from Big Bang Theory so I could use some help on understanding the designer vision there. Can you explain that choice for me?

Hmm, well, I s'pose that is the natural match for the graphic. Especially the original. Didn't notice that before.

Ack! I need to stare at some SQL code for awhile. This artsy stuff is hurting something on the right side of my head.

Amazing! My brain had this whooshing feeling - like all was in balance with the world - as soon as I focused on your code. I think I can sleep now.

Let's look at #101. That is the correct direction.

I miss the depth and lighting effects from #54. The shadow is a nice touch but I think it would have to compliment the lighting and disappear to our peripheral as a result. Make sense? I'm sure you understand it as a designer but being I've never put thought into it, I now realize that subtle things like that just feel right when they are there even though you don't see it but feel like something is missing when they are gone.

The font is beautiful. To me anyway. I like the way you tiered the size on #54 as well (contrary to what I originally was thinking months ago...I mean Tuesday). After all the great logos, I realize that the emphasis on Bench is probably the correct way to go. The smaller font on the next tier allow "Consulting Services" to be paired as a team. And the slogan spread out across the entire graphic allows it to be visible. And easy to just chop off when appropriate.

The lines are still a little blocky. I prefer to see more of an etch. Without playing with it (which I will ultimately do after the contest) I don't know if it is most effective centered (like you have it), height aligned to the logo, or height aligned to the text.

o shave down the left edge of #117 like #54
o drop the slogan back down to span the entire width
o increase font on BENCH
o decrease ... gently ... the font on Consulting Services
o and, I'm thinking bump the font for title case effect

How's this?

and I don't know what you mean by "I'm thinking bump the font for title case effect "

Hold on! You mean you guys aren't all mind readers? How is that possible?

First letter of each word slightly larger since we are not using upper and lower case.

And the rest of it...you're a genious. This has truly been a unique design. I can imagine stamping a couple thousand paperclips with this design. How about that for brand marketing?

Sure, small caps. I can do that no problem. as soon as I get home. I wouldn't even think about attempting it on this tiny 8 inch netbook. These things look cool but are total crap to work with.

Give me an hour or so.

Interesting, you say small caps, I say large caps.

And what's the problem with the netbook? I thought design was usually done on iPhones.
