Hi Vic,
We've made a decision to pursue ideas that we feel are most reflective of the Barcelona grid. This is one of the key elements that make our developments unique. The entire team is a fan of your work, and given we are going this direction we wanted to move you into our top 5 and give you a bit more specific direction. We hope that you have time to work on some additional designs based on our current thinking.
When we talk about the barcelona grid, I'll try to describe a bit better what we are talking about. If you looked at an overhead of the Barcelona city plan, in the planned section of the city you would see city blocks that have truncated corners. So if you looked at a group of four blocks you would see rows of buildings on four sides surrounding an open space - or terrace in the middle. The buildings on the corners would face the intersection at a 45ยบ angle. If you put four blocks together (two streets would intersect in the middle) and the shape created in the middle would be an octagon. The blocks themselves aren't octagonal, because the sides are much longer than the side facing the intersection. I give you all this detail, because we are hungering for a design that hints at the grid by depicting the above. Many of the designs we have rated highly now depict one of these blocks, but not a repeating set of these blocks (like you were showing stacked - we would like to see you explore how you might try to redesign following the above description of the grid. If you have any questions, please let me know.
No one is depicting this correctly right now, so the field is wide open.
The only other piece of feedback I would give you is to relook at your color palette a bit. It's a bit too strong for where we would like to end up.
Please let us know if you have any questions. Thanks again for your work to date.
