Hi :) My entry takes a vintage / woodengraving approach. It's single color, no gradient so it can be screenprinted / stamped / etched / woodburned / etc. If there are any changes that you'd like to see, please just let me know. Thanks for our time & consideration.
Cool - yeah, I can definitely see that. I was definitely looking for turn of the century Americana (which I think corresponds with a lot of Shaker design) Do you have a website with your pieces? I love woodworking and have spent the last few years trying to put together a shop to work from. I'm finally starting to get things in order, but have only done smaller projects. Now I'm trying to find some good wood sources (no mills / lumber yards close to me...)
If there's anything you want to adjust, just let me know! josh
Good to have someone with an idea of what I'm going for. I've had a hard time explaining what I'm looking for so I appreciate your thoughts/insight. In regards to the site - nothing yet. That's what this is all about. I've been doing woodworking as a hobby for 15 or so years and just looking to get myself out there. Been working on photographing some pieces so I can put together a proper portfolio. do you have any thoughts or ideas on incorporating a tool into the design? I've asked others about hand planes/square/saws but maybe it's something that works better in my head than in reality. Also, could one star just be "est" and the other "2015." Without the New York? I've got shallow roots these days. Would definitely like to keep in touch about your woodworking too. Such a great community out there.
Cool - I'd love to see your work when it's up! I've been trying to work out a new drawing desk for a while now, but I keep changing my mind on how I'd want it set up...so I'm thinking its a LOOOONG way off...hahaha
I'll try and figure out a tool that could be worked in. I did sketch out some block planes with some curls, but it got to be too busy...maybe I can pare it down and work it into the design. I'll try and get that together.
Here's a quick revised of the current (removing NY). I'm leaving for a few hours this morning, but I'll think about the tool idea this afternoon and try and have something either today or tomorrow morning?
#47 Here's an idea with a block plane where the curl makes a B...I couldn't get anything with the full-size bantam that didn't feel too busy. Let me know what you think :) josh
That's really cool but I liked the prominent rooster so I think I'd like to stick with the original idea. Sorry to have tinker around so much. How do you think it the original design would look with the "est'd" and "2015" larger and the stars removed? Other than that possible revision, I think we should be all set here!
Hey Josh - you're my guy so i'm going to go with #44, but I'd like to see how it looks without the stars and the "Est'd 2015" made a little larger but in the same location. Also, if I could see #30 done the same way and possibly get both in the end? Let me know, thanks! Mike
