I like this piece of work. The color treatment is good. I don't like the font - you can maybe see from the ranking I like the san serif fonts better. Doesn't have to be Arial/Helvetica, but I'm very plain.
Another reason that this logo is not at the top is the quill... it implies old. New folks can't relate. When I described pens I was referring to the Mont Blanc, Waterman, etc. modern pen - it is how and where my ideas come from.
