What We Do
This logo will be the "stamp of approval" for quality Australian farmed Barramundi.
Industry
Natural Resources
Color Preferences
Open to all colours - this is a quality, sustainable food source, so green may be effective, however crystal clear water tones might also help.
Our Ideas & Additional Information
The logo must include an image of a Barramundi - it can be stylised or simple line art - or go to town and make one photorealistic - just needs to be instantly recognisable as a Barramundi.
Also, this is a sustainable, independently certified product, so there needs to be an element of eco-certifiction about it. Whether that be a tick, or a circular stamp around the image is up to you.
Please no fishing lines or nets.

Thank mmmm and rafa17 for your early entries. I have ranked #1 because it has the most polished gourmet feel which is closest to where the brand is intended to go. There seems to be a little more class about this one.
One comment overall is that the fish is just laid flat - it might be easier to work with if it was more three dimensional - as if it is facing towards us a little - 3/4 head on. As if it has leapt from the water and is arched towards us.
I know that this involves a lot more skill in creating the illustration, but it will also take up less space.

If you want some more direction as to the feel - think a fine wine, a classy restaurant, organic produce - this needs to have class. The biggest hurdle to overcome is incorporating a funny looking fish - I know. If you think it's too hard to put an entire fish in there, then start with the words "Australian Barramundi" and take it from there.

Hi to all designers and thank you so much for your efforts so far, I can see how much work goes into these.
While the competition asks to rank up to 20 logos, I see only four or five main designs and the rest are variations of these designs, so I have ranked the 4 designs accordingly.
At the moment I like #14 for its simplicity, cleanliness, readability of type and overall feel. In #12 I think the fish is looking the best and #1 for the creative mix of all the elements around the shape of Australia.
The question is now - is there another design (not a variation on the existing designs) that can beat these?

Hello all designers.
The clock is ticking, and we're down to the last day, and it's all looking good.
Just harking back to the brief - especially this section - "Also, this is a sustainable, independently certified product, so there needs to be an element of eco-certifiction about it. Whether that be a tick, or a circular stamp around the image is up to you. "
I have seen plenty in the circular stamp department, but not much to do with ticks...
Is there a design that could scoop it in the final hours that uses a Tick as the dominant device?
Cheers.

Hi to all designers
This leaves me in a bit of a pickle, and I have enquired on the forums about an extension.
While I am happy with the variety and quality of the work so far, I don't believe there was enough time left in the competition to fully explore the "tick' as a major device in the logo.
Although it was in the original brief, I only reminded the designers of this 24 hours before the competition ended,
and of course that didn't give any of you enough time to put your best ideas forward in that area, so I am seeing what can be done re an extension.
Cheers

Thanks for your help Ivan F, much appreciated.
The comp is has been extended for those of you who missed the deadline, now's your chance.
The reason for the extension is that I really wanted to see the "tick" explored further as an element of the design. I am really happy with the "stamp" executions so far.

To add some clarity - If the tick is a major feature, there is no need to encase it in a "stamp". Break out of the circle and explore a fish, a tick, and "Certified Quality Australian Barramundi". I would love to see this approached in a Web 2.0 style if possible.
Many thanks, and great work so far.

Wow, absolutely delighted with all the hard work that has gone into these logos.
Some of you may have missed the mark a little with the fish - it's anatomy is unique, and it's a tough one to get just right, so rather than ask those who don't have the fish quite right to attend to it now, we'll only ask the top ranked designers during judging to revise (if it needs revising of course).
Some of you out there have really nailed it.
Cheers
