Good start, All the elements are there - Aussie... Tiger Prawn. But there's no need to limit one's thinking literally. A map of Australia is one way to represent Australia, but there are many, many other ways. The Southern Cross constellation for one (not that I'm suggesting that it be used, but it's just an example). Also - the concept of stripes could work well, seeing that stripes are such a distinctive feature of the product.
Imagine as if the Aussie Tiger Prawn was a mascot for a football team, or a beer label - especially a beer label.
The oval shape, Strong, bold type and hints of water, tail, or head - no need to show an entire prawn to get the idea across, as prawn is in the name.
Hope this helps provide some direction :)
Cheers!

Great to see some new entries. I like the BBQ spatulas as a whimsical element. I'm not saying that these must remain, but it's great example of how the product embodies Australian values by not taking itself too seriously, and the way it romanticises the BBQ. Mates, BBQ's Beer and Prawns, WE SALUTE YOU!
Also - I am open to colour combinations - orange and red are not mandatory remember - Green and gold are the Australian national colours and the flag colours are red white and blue.
I'm also looking for some really strong typography that will withstand being reduced to a small size - clean, readable, bold. I don't care whether it's serif or sans, but it needs to be STRONG.
Remember - you don't need to show an entire prawn to get the idea across - another general comment - the whiskers, while making nice curves and work as a design element are not really that appetising for most people.
Thanks for all your efforts so far, hope this feedback helps with the direction.

Ok, some great new entries here. One thing I think we're not quite nailing is the shape of the prawn. For reference on how a prawn head looks see the other contest we held for Queensland Prawns here https://logotournament.com/contests/queensland_prawns, and check out the winner for an example of a good looking prawn. (I know they are hard to make look pretty)
#32 has a feeling of prestige and "honour" I like (prawns, we salute you), but the prawns aren't quite working yet. However I love the little lemon that has been added, nice thinking.

Wow, I'm blown away by all the entries. I am sure that we will have a winner out of these, there will be a couple of refinements necessary with the eventual winner (mainly with getting the prawn right), but the brief has been answered by all your efforts. When we go into the judging period, I will have to run the top logos by a final committee, as I unfortunately don't have the final say on my own, but the feedback I have received so far has been great.

Hi Boxberg, there are still quite a few designs New/Unranked, do you think you will be ranking these or are you happy with you top 11, Cheers

Just to let you all know - the judging is a little more complex than normal because I am not the only one involved in the process this time - there is some healthy debate going on behind the scenes, will be ranking all shortly.

HI all designers, sorry I've been so slow on the judging front, believe me, I understand how frustrating it can be to not get any feedback, it's just that I'm dealing with a few different "stakeholders" all in different timezones and who have differing opinions, so it takes much longer than expected to get all opinions together. Rest assured, we are close
