What We Do
The general public
Transportation stakeholders like engineers, owners, taxpayers, politicians, municipalities.
Paving companies, rock quarries, asphalt plants (pavement producers), equipment manufacturers, materials suppliers.
Typically middle-aged men are decision-makers. Fairly conservative. Some are tech-savvy while others are much more "old school" with their business practices. We want to appeal more to the younger audience, the more tech-savvy forward-thinking individuals.
Color Preferences
We'd like to see some options that are black and yellow (like a road). NOT grey. We also like the idea of incorporating green because asphalt is a 100% recyclable product and is in fact the most recycled product in the world. We prefer brighter tones of green, not hunter green. Something in between kelly green and mint green. We are also open to blue and teal. Really no colors are mandatory, we just don't want grey.
Our Ideas & Additional Information
We'd like to see logo ideas using our acronym, APAM. We would like to see some kind of icon made out of the letters or incorporated into the acronym. Maybe tire tread or road striping on part of one of the letters?
We like the idea of highlighting certain letters in the logo.
We'd like to convey sustainability but NO trees or leaves. Think industrial recycling NOT nature.
We would like a simple and linear icon, it needs to be very easy to embroider. A sort of wheel or a road icon would be cool.
If you want to emphasize words in the logo please emphasize Asphalt and Michigan.
We prefer sans serif fonts. We would like something that's a bit bolder but not super bold.
We want it to feel forward-thinking and modern.
