Here is my entry, modern Australian icon that represents movement and all sports
with a gold medal backing.

as you can see, I'm trying without the kangaroo, keeping it simple and classic

This logo has the fast moving kangaroo, and has sports stripes,
which point upward to symbolise aiming high.

looks nice reversed too.
Its hard trying not to make the kangaroo not look like all the
1000 kangaroo icons in the country, I believe this to be unique.
