Arapahoe ResourcesLogo Design Contest

Though our name is Arapahoe Resources we would prefer a logo without any Native American or tribal references. We are a growing oil and gas company and are interested in a classic logo (nothing too flashy or bright) that can accompany the legal documents, letterhead, and advertisements that we issue.

Thank you for the designs. We will try to be blunt and honest so that our criticism is as helpful and easy to understand as possible. We like the idea of having the logo reflect some sort of landscape or terrain. We would also be interested in it including an oil rig or a river or both. Also, we would like to see what it looks like to incorporate some darker reds. We will put up a picture of a few oil rigs so that you know what they look like. We had our own designs which included a river flowing out of the bottom of the A in Arapahoe or a river flowing in a horizontal direction through or below the logo. We are terrible artists which is why this competition even exists. We also toyed around with making the A in Arapahoe look like an actual oil derrick. Once again, our renderings were pretty bad but we would be interested in seeing what ideas you might have. We are a natural resources company so including natural characteristics in our logo is something that we like.

Thank you for the designs. We like the bold, classic lettering in #13 and the size comparison between Arapahoe and Resources in #13 as well. We would still like to see oil or a symbol of oil (see the pictures we have uploaded) involved in our logo. Also, so far the majority of the logos have been circular, lets see some other shapes. We like the idea of having some sort of condensed landscape scene with an oil rig, river, and possibly mountain. Let's also work in some dark red if possible. The logo will need to be mainly darker colors. Avoid the yellows, oranges, and light greens if possible. We like the shade of blue used by #6.

We want to emphasize that we would like to include a direct reference to oil and gas, ie. a well or pumping unit (see uploaded pictures). Also, we would like the logo to contain only darker colors including dark red. The greens used in #15 and #12 are too light. Lastly, we would like to see more non-circular logos.

Thank you for all the new designs. We like #13 and would like to see variations on that design that would include an oil reference and use of dark red. The shade of red in #24 is still a bit too light. We like the shade of green used in #18. We like the conjoined triangle structure of #13 as well. The well used in #17 looks good as well though we would like to see the well within the logo and not protruding out as in #17,

After reviewing the logos that have been put in so far and going over those logos with our upper management, we have concluded that the oil rigs used in most of the logos need to resemble the pictures of rigs that we uploaded more closely. We have uploaded new pictures so please try your best to mimic those images as closely as possible. We like the font and lettering used by #36. We would also like to see more of the shade of green in #39 used.
