Top Three Things to Communicate
#1 - Responsive
#2 - Strong attention to detail
#3 - Individualized solutions that match the needs of each customer
Our Target Audience:
Small and medium sized businesses with little or no internal IT resources. Our solutions specialize in integrating IT with pysical security, surveillance, access control and other low voltage systems.
Color Preferences
Leave this up to the designers. Print material may often be monochrome, so minimize the number of different colors and contrast.
Our Ideas and Additional Information:
We are located in the Rocky Mountain region. The term Apex is associated with mountain peaks... and taking security/IT needs to the "peak". Perhaps incorporate the "A" into a peak design, or use a peak/mountain type of logo. Would also consider using the initials ASG.

Diamond Contest
We're sorry, but this contest is presently open to a limited pool of designers.
#1 and 2 both look great. Would prefer a different approach on the peak design in number 1. #3 - Typeset looks good. Peak design isn't appealing. #5 - wasn't seeing the "X" string enough in APEX.
Overall I like the formats and colors thus far. Espeically with "Systems Group" undertoned just slightly as shown in #1. Probably keep with the following colors choices: Red, Green, Black/greyscale and blue.
Great ideas so far everyone... here are some general notes:
When I had the idea of the A as a peak... I was envisioning it being part of the word "Apex", but I'm not stuck on that concept.
If using Industry graphics as part of a logo, they should lean more towards security and surveillance, but we don't want to lose the importance of the IT factor. Want ot portray more of the "IT integrator" feel than your average security company, so don't go overboard with traditional designs like keys, locks, etc. Perhas this is a bad approach as I don't want to have the perception of only focusing on one given technology (example: camera logo).
#11 - altenate layouts or fonts? I like the drop shadow under the circle. #14 - We would prefer to shy away from using all lowercase.
I just posted several comments on individual submissions. I've been very impressed with this site and all of the artistic talent shown here! My rankings are based on overall direction and appeal... that said, I continue to be surprised daily by the new submissions and am not locked into any one given look so far.
Reminders: While it's commonplace in the web arena, we'd like to stay away from using all lowercase. I think at least the A in Apex needs to be in caps. White/transparent backgrounds are preferred. We are a systems integrator with a primary focus on security (CCTV and Access Control systems which are IP based). While I didn't like the "security shield" look, I wouldn't mind seeing some other ideas incorporating other security elements (i.e. surveillance camera). If doing so, the logo still needs to maintain a very neat, clean and "not too busy" look.
Keep the GREAT ideas coming & thanks for all of your submissions thus far!
