Font is Aleo. It goes with logo, but it's not a mandatory. In the business card for example is important for clients not to confuse the tagline with the essential info. So we can use a different font or also using the same but with different style, weight, size...
Okay. We agree on this one. What is the typeface, and in something like a business card, what I want to use it, or keep it totally exclusive to the logo?
My favourite is #432, also #428 same font regular. The little serifs have a vintage feel in a retro modern style. If you are not sue about it we can try some more option
This is a tough decision. Can't decide whether I like this one or #432 better. What I want is a simple look but something that reflects an older vintage. Tell me, of all the ones you've done, which do you prefer?
We can leave the main part alone now and play with the fonts now. The one we have is close. I think simple is good so it doesn't compete with the rest of the logo.
this is related to #432. I moved the anvil on the left and I've extended the right part a little bit, so now it's a little bit longer and probably closer to the anvil attached with the black background. Then I made "since 1961" of the same width of the base. Let me know if #432 is ok and then I'll show some different fonts. We will find the right one! :)
You can make a comparison between this and #428 to get the alignment you prefer. Then we can explore the font. Do you like this one for example? It's a slab serif regular weight, but it's smoother than Clarendon. It matches it, it's clean, easy to read and fine.
Since 1961 is centered, but the italic font optically may look not centered. The anvil is not centered. It's asymmetrical in a particular way. I chose to align the base on the N so I moved it on the left. For me it's centered, optically. If you design a black square inside the anvil, between the two arcs of the anvil, you got the heart of the black block, the biggest portion of the anvil. If you center this square, you'll notice the anvil should be moved on the left more than it actually is, while if you center the whole anvil it will go on the right. I made an optical balance between the black heart and the right alignment.
Is this the taller anvil, or just raised edges? We like the original height, but with the raised edges. Also, the anvil should be centered at the base, not the top.
Please use this same anvil in #413 and omit the since 1961 for now. It probably won't ever be used with that version. That is the version we will use for our sign.
We're getting closer!
- We like this anvil. It's perfect.
- Let's try centering the anvil to the base of the anvil versus the top.
- still like this font the best but maybe with a little less kerning and 20% larger.
On this one (using the new anvil with the higher edge), I was wondering what it would look like with just a tiny bit (10%) more white space between the anvil and the A.
Also, on all future versions of this, please make this raised area just a tiny bit higher. Maybe send a version of this design first before replicating into other versions.
I have done a poll and your logo has done best. Also, I have some concerns with the one with the anvil inside the A because some people find it hard to read at a small size and it would be difficult on embroidery.
Accordingly, I would like to play with a few elements here.
- Improve the size and font of Since 1961
- How would it look with the anvil at the bottom?
- Possibly include Since 1961 inside the anvil?
Please show me some more possibilities. Thank you.
I explained differences in the comments of #404. The only difference is the anvil is longer in width and it marches perfectly the one with the black background... Even if it's not what you asked :)
Hi, this one matches perfectly the old logo. I used the anvil from the eps in the past designs, but now I noticed it was shorter than the one from the old sign. Now it's exactly like the old one. Also all the lettering have same tall and width, but "since 1961" because the old tagline was longer. Also "Fence Company" in the past had a different font. I can change it if you need, but in my opinion the actual font is better.

Please refer to the original logo I included with the files. That is from an old sign. How would you make this logo to the same proportion as the original?
Sorry for the change up again, but I have been advised not to make a wood fence a strong element of this. If I go with any fence element it would be a chain link. But possibly no fence element at all may do the trick.
I chose your logo as a finalist due to the innovative use of the chain link that you used. However, I think that if any fence element is used, it should look more like a wood fence. Thank you for submitting.

Also, I would like to see a few more possibilities for fonts and size on Since 1961. I like it now but I don't love it.

Also, please center the *base* of the anvil, and not the top. This will balance it better with the SInce 1961.

Also, is this with the new anvil that has the slightly more raised top edge?
