#2 Nice and soft. But for everyone else, it does not have to be a butterfly. I'd like to see the name written other than just a regular font...as a wordmark.

I'd like to see examples of a wordmark...with the name as more of the actual logo..written in soft flowing yet readable type, maybe with a background or side element./design

hmmm...guess i posted on the wrong page! trying again.
All. Please do not limit yourself to putting the name on two lines as the top ones were. I ranked them by the overall feel I get with the design, not just how the name is written, Will a client feel safe with a nontraditional (at least in the US) approach to healing? Expect the pain to disappear? Want to call?

punktir...what a shame you gave up. I had to go off line before i ranked last night and was about to move your simple name with the leaf/flower/ element against the purple background up to one of the top 3.

To your point, I understand the difficulty of using gradients in print (which is why I also want to see it a logo that works in black and white line art). But I also saw the possibility of printing in bleed with the solid gradient extending to the edges to allow room for my name/contact info in white.

However, I respect your decision to follow your heart.

In my opinion, a glowing effect is nothing less than dealing with the contrast. Glowing effects work perfectly for print and simple gradients too. If they are well done, of course.

I extended the contest mainly because I will be in a seminar all day on Sunday so will not have access to the final entries before time runs out. I actually plan to end the contest Monday or Tuesday morning, but put down 5 days instead of 2 just in case I don't have time to get to this. I also want to get feedback from others who aren't as attached to it as I am. I keep going back between 40, 63 and 57.

Thank you for your entries. I showed this to a couple people at a reception tonight and they asked for information to submit their own contest. As I told the moderator, I have used this site twice before with wonderful results (for my "real" job), and will recommend it when presenting at an international conference next month.

78. I like how you were the first to put the "to" on a sepaate line so the other lines stood out The design element is interesting. I see energy (an atom) in it with the butterfly.

Feedback I am getting from others is that i should have a hand in the design since I do healing through my hands. I'm still not 100% sold on that thought.

40 and 87 are almost a dead heat. I keep going back and forth. One speaks to my heart, the other speaks to my head. Survey isn't helping. 50/50. I love them both and wish you could split the prize!! I'm going to meditate on it.

back and forth. back and forth. Sorry designers! I love both designs. My marketing side (87) is fighting my spiritual side(40).

I am showing both to people around my office, someone who does branding, one of my quantum touch instructors, and even strangers in line at Panera Bread. I find that people LOVE 40 (Strong "yes!"), don't mind 87. They just love 40. But those who like 87 (not as strong of a "yes" compared to the other) , really don't like 40 at all. Interesting emotions attached.

Also, I asked people who know nothing about what I do. They all quickly understood that 87 has something to do with holistic healing.

Here speaks "the heart", first i wish best luck to the "head". This is a nice and fair contest.
If you are still hesitating tomorrow there's a tip qthealing, make a screenshot of both logos and print them at the top of a filled out letter paper sheet . This works nine times out of ten.

Last minute entries...guess you read the brief, but not the comments or followed the contest. Thank you, but the butterfly idea was "nixed" early on..

Whew....thank you all soo much. I ranked the top ones, and gave the top 7 to different designers (as per my; understanding of the rules). This was soo back and forth. The surveys were split 50/50..even between "professionals" i.e, graphic artists, other alternative practioners, and editors of magazines where I would use the logo,

Of course I told them all about this website!

I took cramfenburg01's advice and put them on stationery as well as business cards. Both looked good. Then I played with them both in photoshop to see how they would look with my name as the feature, rather than the business name. #132 worked better (when I flipped the design element). Still not 100% since I liked 40's better in black and white.

What made my final decision? Well, driving down the highway. I looked at the trucks' and buildings' signage. And I pictured people seeing 132 and knowing right away what I was about. And seeing 40 and thinking it could be a traditional doc office, or nursing home. So...my 35 years in marketing won over my 5 years in alternative healing. I hope someone devoted to helping others uses a variation of 40. It is a wonderful beautiful logo filled with good energy!
