Color Preferences
Open to any palette EXCEPT would prefer not to see yellow or green. (Personal preference, I just dislike those colors.)
Our Ideas & Additional Information
My work consists of taking technical material (research findings, financial returns, quantitative survey data, etc.), finding the meaning, and turning that information into compelling stories for a variety of audiences. Along with writing and editing, I help clients figure out their key messages, audiences, channels, and strategies. I take a great deal of pride in delivering the best results for my clients -- after all, I practice under my own family name, not a corporate name -- and most of my business comes from repeat clients of many years' standing. It's important to me to have a logo that looks sophisticated and modern, and fresh, but in no way faddish or whimsical.

Hi, everyone -- I forgot to mention that the attached jpegs are the current logo, created in 2006. I like them well enough but I want something I love . . . plus I think it is just time for a refresh. I do like the nib of the fountain pen, but it's not necessary to incorporate that element if it is not organic to / harmonious with your own design ideas. Thanks, all!

Hi, again. Wow! I did not expect so many, such excellent entries, so fast! This is very encouraging. What I am doing is selecting all the logos I like, and then ranking them in order of how much I like them. For the most part, where designers submitted multiple entries, I selected the ones I liked the most, and put the other entries from those designers into the "not interested" column -- not necessarily because I did not think those logos were good, too, but because I prefer to start focusing right away on what I like best of what I am seeing from each professional.

Among the things it turns out that I am liking:

1) For the "bug", a circular rather than a square treatment.
2) For color, I am finding (no surprise here) that I really like the reds. Most of the reds I am seeing seem to 3) have a good bit of brown in them. I'd love to see some more options with a more fire-engine tone. In general, I am not a fan of earth tones.
4) Please do also see the earlier comment about the fountain-pen nib. If it works in your designs, I'd love to see it.

Once again, my thanks to all who have already jumped on this! I am feeling so impressed and encouraged.

Best,
Anne
