Here we go; #180 with colors and typography as
#205. I made two variations where the difference is only the size of the flowers. I have several other variations on transparency, size, typography etc here and I have submitted the ones I think works the best and are most balanced, but please feel free to request to see further variations as well, that is no problem.
I quite like the one you suggested here, I think it works very well and I *really* think the color adds an edge and personality to it and that the palette represents the film media in both a traditional yet modern way. Both of the two directions are variations on the same subject; the classic film laurel as a quality stamp executed in a subtle modern style. With danger of sounding pompous, I think it spans and shows respect both to the old classical film media, and also to the newer more modern films and the new digital media.
I like the two directions for different reasons. The "complete flower" I like because I think the idea is easy to see, it's both a tribute and a pastiche to the laurel, and with an 'Amsterdamish' touch of tulip course. I like the more abstract one for more visual reasons - I think it leaves you with a very strong feeling of film without having to shout it out, I think it's subtle yet strong in a slightly mysterious way. So as you can tell I have difficulty choosing a favourite myself, but I hope my thoughts above can be helpful.:) And if you decided to go with either one of these I'll of course provide more variations on the details beyond the end of the competition too if requested.
