Our Ideas & Additional Information
We like the "A" and "V" graphic of the current logo. But they only work well with white type and a dark background. There is a problem when you try to create this logo with black type This is the main reason the logo needs to be reworked. Another challenge is the number of words in the company name - sorry, they all have to be there. Please submit ideas that include the "A" and "V" or ignore them and create a new masterpiece. Nothing cute please. Corporate feel with a bit of creative flare. You may visit our website: www.americanvisualdisplay.com Please do not contact company. Thanks.

To all designers: Thanks in advance for your submissions! Here's a tip: The logo will occasionally need to be used on a dark background. It is not required to submit your designs with a dark background, because I'm most interested in the way it will be used in print. Just keep in mind that we will occasionally reproduce the logo "reversed" on a dark field. Black type will go to white and hopefully all other hues will remain the same. -Andy

Here's another tip: Submit all the designs that you feel work the best, but consider including at least one design in which the words "Visual Display" are given greatest emphasis. - Andy

To all designers: I am interested in seeing your completely original concepts, however if you can include at least one design that includes some form of the "A" and "V" elements of our original logo I'd appreciate it.

Creating a strong corporate feel of a solid national firm is a great starting place. There's nothing wrong with adding just enough flare to show that we're "alive."

Remember, the "A" and "V" are all fair game because they were in the brief.

Nice use of an RGB icon from Budiadiliansyah in #20 and #21. The design is nicely balanced.

A note about the ranking: On Tuesday there will likely be a major re-ranking of entries. We will be getting input from additional team members at that time. So if you've been hoping for a higher ranking, it could happen then. But nobody really knows exactly what will happen until the time comes.

Thanks for all of your entires! Very nice work. -Andy

To all designers: If you haven't already, please consider submitting a design with your interpretation of the "A" and "V" graphics described in the client brief. Be creative with your interpretation. Your idea doesn't need to look like ours did. Thanks.

To all designers: We'd be interested in seeing your best concept in which the words "Visual Display" receive greatest emphasis. Many of you have already. If you haven't - give it a go! Thanks.

To all designers: Before you submit your designs, please check to make sure yours will work when reversed out of a dark background. It's okay if black type is replaced with white, but ideally all other hues would remain the same. Thanks.

To all designers: Please don't withdraw your entries unless you have serious second thoughts about it. There's no way to predict how the design rankings will change when I give the team a chance to review things this week. There is no design here that we won't consider. Keep 'me in - and keep 'em coming.

I'm amused by the "client activity" meter in my profile. It says I need to give more feedback, but I'm all tapped out.

I think if you left comments per designer (by clicking on our entries), you would probably do it then :) I cannoty fault you though for the amount of feedback left A++ and im sure all other designers agree too.

Hello! Here are some hints for getting the most out of your contest as it progresses:

~~ Rank designs daily -- this will encourage participation.
~~ Rank a variety of designs to get a variety of entries.
~~ Ranking gets your contest noticed! Unless your contest is Private, 1st place entries are posted to the portfolio page: https://logotournament.com/portfolio
~~ Leave private feedback by clicking on a design. Feedback will be made public upon contest completion
~~ The more feedback you provide, the better results you will see.
~~ Designers are not offended by "Not Interested".
~~ Over-use of "Not Interested" discourages participation.
~~ Designers earn points for designs ranked 1st - 10th. We like to earn points.
~~ After your contest closes it will enter Judging phase. You can re-rank designs in Judging.
~~ While in Judging, the designer ranked in first place can submit revisions

More detailed information on how to get the most out of your contest can be found here:

Thanks for your entries everyone. Very nice work! I have the task of managing a small team who will decide the winner. We'll move as quickly as possible. It will probably take three business days to declare the winner. -Andy
