What We Do
This is actually a logo for a newsletter. The organization is actually Advanced Career Institute, which is a vocational, career college, that trains people for truck driving or welding careers. This newsletter will communicate relevant news to the student population. So we will likely be "playing off" of the corporate logo since the word "Advanced" is also used for the name of the newsletter.
Industry
Education
Color Preferences
Red, Blue, White most likely since this would match the branding of the company logo.
Our Ideas & Additional Information
Since the name of the company is "Advanced Career Institute". And the name of the newsletter is "Advanced News", it will likely need to tie in or play off the company branding already in place. Logo from the website is attached. Website address is: advanced.edu.

Just FYI to everyone, don't get hung up on the rankings as of yet. I'm just fighting to keep up with putting logos in the ranker or not interested columns. As logos are changed or improved, ultimately some move to not interested because there is a replacement. In the ranked column I tend to group your logos together if there is more than one, so I can see them all together. Once again, no particular order in the first 4 days.

I also tend to group logos together that are similar in concept, across designers. So once again, the rankings at the moment mean nothing. It's just groupings for me to further narrow down. I will check back in tomorrow and weed some more out. I will then be consulting my client by sending about 20 concepts to get his input. Over the weekend I will further narrow down.

After clients comments on Friday I did narrow down to his Top 10, plus I left a few more on the end. I have another 50 variations to go through today. You guys keeping me busy! I now must work with the Top 5 designers. I will still be grouping your logos together, that are variations of the same concept, so I can see them close together. Not in any particular ranking order as of yet. After I've narrowed down some logos myself, I will be sending another email off to my client for further input and begin narrowing within each designer concept and begin ranking.

Ok everyone, have done a few cuts with the client now. He leaned towards logos that "played off" of their existing branding vs. trying to create a new logo with and "A" and "N". I've narrowed do to 7, with a couple requests out to some of the Top 5 designers to make a variation. I probably won't check back in until Monday now. At time of posting this there is 1 day, 18 hours left in Phase 2.
