Conceptual design. Plain white on a dark back. Using a iconized symbol of a diamond - Appealing to a younger audience High visability thanks to simple shape a clear font
I would like to use the font from your existing webpage "JEWELRY" (written in golden. Any idea what kind of font it is?
A "real" diamond drawn from the correct measures of all facetts. Any colour can be selected for the gradients in the diamond - depending on the surronding light
My font selection is made deliberate in order to fit in to the trends and styles of haute couture, jeans coture, grunge and business metro style.
I can see this as a label along side other high fashion labels and well known brands. My goal is to make it timeless. A very common solution is to make jewelry signs/logos old fashioned with prolonged serifs and swirly fonts. I'm hinting a bit in that direction with the word "Jewelry" but that's as far as I'd go.
Diamonds, jewelry in general are already well known products, the question is, what market do you want to explore?
I LOVE your explanations and insights! I'm going to discuss your thoughts with my partner (husband, goldsmith, business owner, but not so hot on communicating thoughts and staying on top of this so I'm happily the go between) and get back to you as soon as possible. We do NOT know the name of the font... That has eluded us for 4 years now. We got the file from the company who created our sign, who ended up being pretty unfriendly. We liked his "Jewelry," too, though. Except that it says "jewelers..." That being part of the unfriendly :D. Anyway, if you're really interested in the font you can contact him via his site, platinumsign.com. I'll be back with our thoughts soon. Thank you!
We like your work, thanks to your insights. My first impression, though, is "sporty" which is what my first impression of the font from our business card you are referencing. If you have any other concepts conveying "timelessness" I'd like to consider them. Thank you!
As per your request - A more timeless design utilizing a script font that is calm, easy to read and not too complex. "JEWELRY" in a clear and modern font and balanced in both size and placement Diamond has a an exciting placement as it it "hold" in place by the letter "A"
All in all - it gives a sleeker design (less high) and might be easier to place on different applications. (Albeit, the diamond in the other design can of course be moved too... :-)
A reference to the old sign. Gold colour and a champagne coloured diamond. Same timeless font.
Btw. I've tried to locate the font from the original sign, but with no greater success. Even tried to get into contact with the sign firm you had problem with but all email addresses bounced (no mailbox). I found some that was similar but noone with the exact match. Although I know I've seen this font somewhere before.. can't just remember where... sorry.
Timeless and personal. Feels like a brand sprung out of an era when everything was blooming and field with hope. A brand well suited to stand against time and lends itself well to different applications. Both conservative and the latest trends.
You sure a salesperson! :D I mean that in a good way! You talked us into "appealing to a younger audience," "haute couture," etc. then you make "out of an era when everything was blooming and filled with hope" sound appealing! I think your new designs are beautiful but we prefer the contemporary yet timeless angle. We will be sure to move the "not interested" designs back into ranking before we finalize our decision so you get points for your submission. I'm just having a hard time keeping track of everything! Thank you for showing us the first one (#25) in white (#58). Your work is amazing! Thank you for your time and talents! If you have other concepts we would love to consider them!
A combo of previous design elements Sporty font and stylized diamond in gold colour Diamond is stylizrd much in the same way car brands do their logos. Meant for longivity and a multitude of applications; flyers, banners, sign, stationary, merchandise and apparel.
Hi, thanks for the feedback and the appreciation! :-)
Well, something about "selling" must have stuck in my brain.. since I'm educated in marketing and consulting by IBM and have worked in that capacity within IT for almost ten years... in addition I find myself holding marketing seminars for new business owners every month in the Stockholm area.... and I always get excited when I find new ideas about design and are happy to share my impressions.
Tell me if you need any more variations on my previously submitted designs.
I just wanted to say a last thank you! My partner still prefers the other design so we're working with that one. Blessings and/or good luck in life to you! :D
