FYR: There are multiple individuals giving feedback to the Academy for Systemic Practice contest - all are using the same Username "Keli Yen".

This is feedback from however the Account holder, the real Keli Yen:
Entry #2:
- I like the vibrance and earthy-ness of the colors.
- I like how this image conveys for me that we are "about" celebrating different people across the globe.
- I like how "Academy for" receives less emphasis (small text size) relative to the focus on "Systemic Practice". That represents us well, we indeed do care more about the impact of systems thinking & practice, than about our own institution.
- drawback: The current layout gives me a "corporate" sense, perhaps due to the box dimensions & grey globe... Rather, we are a small group of creative thinkers. We are all about innovation, and would like a logo that looks and feels different. A logo that is unconventionally artistic, because since we challenge conventions in every aspect of who we are in the world.

The 6/21/2011, 3:51 entry was in reference to Entry #3 (which uses orange colors in the people & green "systemic practice" text)

Below is feedback for Entry #2:
The dark brown makes the logo feel very "heavy" and dark to me. I prefer more color variation.

General comments on #1 and #2: The work of the Academy has a real and strong connection to the natural world elements - water, earth, air, fire - especially fire now - so it would be nice to see some relationship to this is the logo, beyond just the use of a globe. Spiritual practice will also be a key element for our work - how could this be reflected in the logo? I agree with an earlier comment re: the emphasis on Systemic Practice is a good approach. Color scheme could be more vibrant - again, relate to natural elements. Not a fan of the 'people circling the globe' - this has been used way too often.

the green portion of the logo represents man's spirit and at the same time symbolizes hands supporting the earth. the different colors represent the elements except fire, which is represented by the whole logo as a stylized fire. it also represents a stylized temple. the text is written in such a way that altogether it forms a pyramid, it represents the sense of harmony and unity within ourselves and with the environment to which we aspire.. i hope that explains it well. :)

#38 This is interesting to us -the eye still translates this as a human figure - we definitely don't want a person or suggestion of a person
3 Lines of text is too much -- maybe move this in the direction of the slightest suggestion of flames - some of our group is attracted to the image of fire
