A Kiss on the ChicLogo Design Contest

Even though my business name has a KISS in it, I'm not really looking for a big lips for the logo. I did think of a "play on words" when I came up with the name. ie. A kiss on the cheek, A Kiss on the Chic... And the "chic" part is a play on Chic/Stylish and Chic/Shabby Chic. But I don't think I want any lips in the logo unless they would be on a silhouette of a lady or somewhere very small. Excited to see what everyone comes up with! Thanks!!

# 6 I Like the style of this a LOT! I'd like to see a different shape instead of an oval. Maybe a "label shape" You can see an example of scrapbooking paper that is a label shape at www.jennibowlin.com . She has a label shaped die cut paper. I'd also like to see my name a little easier but I LOVE the style you have going!! THANKS!!

#5 I see how you're going for a more "shabby chic" look but I'd like to see it more stylish and less crafty but the concept is nice. THANKS!

#8 I like what you have going on but I think it may be a little busy on top. Maybe a "french cafe awning" on top instead of the stripes would look nice? THANKS!

#11 I like what you have going on at the top with the swirls! I'd like to see a different font for KISS and maybe a different way of putting the whole name together with CHIC more emphasized. THANKS!

#9 This one has the beginning stages of something I'd like but I'd like it to be more stylish and less "teenager" looking. Maybe more scrolling instead of bubble in the KISS and a fancier oval with a frame? THANKS!

#14 I really like this one! I would LOVE to see this as a "coat of arms" type of emblem with the wings coming out from the coat of arms! That would be GREAT!

#17 This is getting good! I really like the top part now! The only thing I'm not sure on is the circle with the A Kiss. I think it needs to be more stylish to fit with the other part. Maybe not circles around it but more swirly or floral? THANKS!!

#22 I LOVE the shape of this one MUCH better the the oval! I just miss the crown and font of the first one. I'd like to see this shape with less swirling and a crown on top, maybe some more color too or definition in the colors. THANKS!!

$21 I like this one too! I would LOVE to see you do a "coat of arms" type of emblem for me! I like the style you are doing for me and think that would be kind of cool to see a "coat of arms" type of logo. #27 & # 28 I didn't see any difference between these two so I put the double in the "not interested" area. But i LOVE this and we are soooo close I think to perfection! I'd like to play around with the colors and dimension of this crest but I REALLY like this one and # 25 as well! Not sure if I like the name below or in the crest better? Will have to seek other opinions on that... Id like to see maybe one other type of "filler" where the "checkers" are that is more "artsy" or english crest like... but this is REALLY GREAT!! THANKS!!

# 23 I really like what you have going on inside this "label" but the color just isn't working for me. Could you change it to a black & white without so much shine but some dimension?? THANKS!

#33 I love the crest going on here! The only thing is I'm not crazy about the scissors and other thing. Can you do more of an "artsy" look without the craft tools. I'd also love to see a more ornate crown on the top that is more substantial and stylish. THANKS!

# 37 I LOVE IT!!! I think you have hit the nail on the head with this one! I LOVE the black and white stripes and all the detail inside!! LOVE the font, love everything! This is going to be a HARD decision! THANKS!!

# 39 I really like the stripes on this one! You are making so many great ones it's hard for me to decide! I'm having some people over on Sunday so don't withdraw any b/c I want to get other opinions!

The only thing I was thinking of is I think I would like to see my business name IN the crest like some of the other ones, but with something behind my name like a pattern or some sort that is more opaque or 50% difused so the business name still shows up good. The lines are great though so I don't know... I also like damask patterns and I forgot to mention this lady who does a LOT of scrapbooking fonts and digi kits that I LOVE:

If you click on her DESIGNS button, it takes you to a page where the word DESIGNS is in some sort of font that I LOVE with all different styles for each letter. I also love just the "airbrush" style of her digital images a LOT. Like her crown and swirls and such...

I also looked online at font.com and found a couple fonts I like for my name if the above type of font wouldn't work. I found too fonts I like, Gwendolyn and Confection.

# 36 I still like this one too so don't withdraw it! I have some people coming over on Sunday and want them to see all of these! I don't know if you want to play around a little bit more but like I said to the person above, I am looking at different fonts and like a more "Chic" look instead of a fancy font. There were two on Font.com that I mentioned above that I like or something along the lines of the Rhonna Ferrar style in the info above... I'm so excited about this and I know I'm going to have a HARD time deciding with all these GREAT designs!! THANKS!

# 44 I LOVE the crown!! That is way more "Chic" ! ;)- I also love the lettering on "Chic" but the other example it was too much I think?? What if you just did that lettering on the K for Kiss and the C for Chic? ( I like the 2nd "C" better...) Maybe that would be even better b/c it's not too much then. I'd also like the "a & the "on the" to be the same font as you have on # 25. I'm liking the pink subtle pattern behind the name too but I'm still struggling with REALLY LIKING the stripes on # 39! Is there any way we can do a subtle stripe behind the name? I don't know, it may not work but I would really like to incorporate the stripes in somewhere, maybe around the crest in that small white boarder area if it doesn't work behind the name? Oh, I'm so happy with all of these that you've done and can't WAIT to have my friends and family see all of these! THANKS!!

Hi everyone! I just went and extended the contest for 5 more days! I just thought that would be a good idea since I really want to give enough time for you to get done with your designs and not have to rush for tomorrow since it's a Sunday. The other thing is I have about 35 family coming over tomorrow and it's going to be hard to make a decision on this with so many people over (and meeting my new and 1st baby niece for the first time!!) So this will give me more time to focus on picking a winner later on this next week when I don't have so many people over. THANKS SO MUCH, Laura

Hi to everyone again! Wow, I've had so much to think about since I had family over! They had such GREAT things to say about ALL these LOGO's!!! Not sure if that helps or hinders my decision... The only thing I guess I'd like to add is a lot of people who are familiar with my blog, are going to miss the GOLD FRAME I have in the middle of the banner! I didn't realize THAT had become such a symbol of my business. Not sure if that's what I want to continue with but if anyone has time to do something, you can check it out at: http://akissonthechic.typepad.com and see if you can do something creative with that! The other thing I heard was why is everything got PINK in it? I know it's because I said I like black, white and pink and I told them that! But, maybe just Black & White and/or subtle variations of that would be good to see too. Hope this helps! THANKS!

# 50 Thanks for trying it this way! I like the stripes a LOT but it still doesn't show the name very good. I don't know if that's just the way it would be no matter how opaque the stripes are?? I wish there was a way to have the best of both worlds! THANKS!

Click on this purse and zoom in to see the frame with crown in the middle that looks like a crest but it's not! And then my business name on top?? I just found this today and thought it was really pretty!

#48 & 50. I got to thinking what if we put a BIG crown in the middle of both of these with the business name at the bottom or the top. Maybe do away with crown at the top (if it looks to much with two crowns) Take away the K & C from 48 and take away the business name from 50 and replace with the crown. I would like to see the business name just like 48 but I'd like to see it at the top and the bottom to see what works best. THANKS!!
