hi, here's my entry, I tried to use the clean simple style of your examples while including both gift and tree indications. Would like to hear what u think.
I like this design, and am really impressed by how you have incorporated the tree and gift indicators. I like it's simplicity too. I'm wondering how it would look with fewer colours? e.g. if the green and light blue were the same colour.
#18 - I like the use of fewer colours. #20 - Is a bit too fiddly and complex I think. I'm looking for something straight forward and simple. It will need to print to paper well too. #21 - is really interesting. I like it. See my general comment about olive... it may be that I'm moving away from that colour a little now - on advice! :-)
Thanks for posting #37. You've obviously been thinking about what I've put in the brief and comments, so thanks for that. I like the gift tag concept you've used here, although overall, I think the logo looks a bit 'weedy'. I think I'm looking for something a bit more robust looking. Hard to define what I mean, but I think the way the tree trunk is curved and the labels are not solid colour makes it look less strong than it could.
Thanks for your new postings. All really good stuff, which is making my decision/ranking really difficult. I think there's the seeds of a good idea in #51, but at first glance I thought it looked like a picture of a house that had fallen to one side. I know it isn't, but I'm trying to apply the test of what would it look like to someone who hadn't come across the company before, and who certainly hadn't read the creative brief for the logo tournament. So - I'm not sure that #51 quite works for me.
re #45 and #46 - I like the wider flatter shape of the overall box, but I don't think the stalk needs to be wider, and the blue doesn't have to be the same blue on either side. Having different colours reminds the subconscious eye that it's also a box, not just the blue sky background behind a tree with green foliage. I think the new fonts may be a little strong too - I prefer the fonts on the orignals #17 and #18 etc.
Good work, and thanks for continuing to develop the ideas. Really appreciate that.
Please ignore my comment about the wider shape. I think there's a general view that the size/shape in #18 is better. I like the lettering that is used in #7 - perhaps you could take a bit of inspiration from there?
I've made the fatal mistake of asking too many people their opinion on the logos. However, I think I'm really down to a short list now.
I'd really like to see your design number #45 with the following changes if you are able to make them: - inspiration on font from #49 - narrow the trunk of the tree quite a lot - straighten the lines to make it look more cube-like. They don't need to be completely straight, but need to be straighter than now. - use the two blues for the lower faces of the cube as you have done in #18 - use a slightly stronger green for the top face. - remove the web address as it's not necessary, at most, just the words and .co.uk is required
Hope that's not asking too much. Thanks for the great work so far.
Thanks, I'll be able to make these changes as soon as I get home tomorrow. I wish I could do it now but am out of town at the moment. If you like you can extend the contest a day or two to see the changes or just leave it in judging mode until I can submit them. If not I completely understand and thanks for the feedback.
Hi Chris, I've made some changes to my entry that you've requested. I cannot submit unless I'm in the first ranked position, at least temporarily. Let me know if you will be able to do that.
