*** I'm sorry I wasn't clear initially. This logo will be on a blue background during the first phase of our website. Please adjust the colors accordingly. For the color theme please see www.klc.me/drupal. The logo we purchase will replace the default drupal logo on the site. Thanks! ***

We are open to ideas. Right now the site will be designed in Drupal with the default Drupal Template (BLUE - visit www.drupal.org for example)

We think we'd like the background to be transparent so that we can use the logo on different base colors but need advisement in this area.

I installed a "test" drupal site here (www.klc.me/drupal) so that you can see what it looks like. I'd like for the logo to replace the default Drupal logo. See the gradient in the upper portion of the page?

Hello! Here are some hints for getting the most out of your contest:

~~ Rank designs daily -- this will encourage more participation.
~~ Ranking designs daily will also keep your contest from getting cluttered.
~~ The more feedback you provide, the better results you are going to see.
~~ Designers are not offended by "Not Interested"
~~ Over-use of "Not Interested" discourages participation.
~~ Ranking is a non-monitary means of showing apprecaition for designers hard work.
~~ Designers earn points for ranked designs. We like to earn points.

More detailed information on how to get the most out of your contest can be found here:

I can't put my finger on it but something about this design isn't easy on the eyes. The relationship between the characters looks strange as well. Probably just an illusion. Thanks for trying on this one! I've taken a look at your portfolio and you do some fine work! Give it another shot if you don't mind!

Wow... is all I can say. I'm VERY impressed with the work everyone has submitted so far! Just because I've flagged a logo as "not interested" doesn't mean that I don't appreciate the work. You are all very talented. I just need a way to clear the clutter on my screen from the logos I know don't appeal to my tastes for this particular website.

Keep up the great work!

Hi everyone!

Just to let you guys know... there is one thing that makes #49 really stand out to me. I'm not familiar with all of the marketing terminology but I believe the phrase "brand recognition" could be used to describe how I see this piece. "If" my company were to ever become one of the big guys (that's a big IF, by the way) then the symbol on the left hand side of the logo could stand alone and people would recognize it... because it's unique. It stands out. That's not to say that the logo I end up choosing has to have this quality but right now that's what is causing this one to really stand out. The rest of it looks pretty nice too though so that helps.

Everyone is doing a great job... I just wanted to let you all know what I'm thinking and why that #49 is stuck in my first place position!

Thanks and keep up the great work!

I'm considering extending the contest for a bit due to my lack of participation. Sorry I've been lacking in the comments the past few days! We've been working our butts off and haven't had much time to respond. I'm about to go sleep. I'll try to give some input when I wake up and will have a better idea at that time if we will extend.

Thanks everyone!

Dear Ch

How to Rank and Thank Designers: When it comes time for final rankings, designers appreciate when you choose the top three CONCEPTS (as opposed to variations of the same design) for the gold, silver and bronze awards. If you want to rank two different concepts by the same designer in the top three, that's fine.
Also, rank as many entries as possible, because designers get points added to their overall site standing for each blue ribbon they get.

This is how points are distributed:

1st place - 50 points
2nd place - 20 points
3rd place - 10 points
4-6th place - 5 points
7-10 place - 3 points

After that, each ranked entry gets one point for the designer. Nobody will be insulted by being ranked last, the points are still good! So if you pull some entries out of the "Not Interested" group and give them a rank, the designer gets some benefit from entering your contest.

Hope that's helpful, lots of contest holders don't realize this and most are glad to know. It's a good way to thank designers who don't win the contest prize, but who worked very hard to offer you lots of options to choose from for a great logo.

Thanks for understanding

FYI

you are required to to ranked at least the top 3 position with different designers when it come time to make your selection in order to complete the process. by eliminating all but 2 designers not allow you finalize the contest

you should also consider ranking more designers the points we gain are of value to us. .

cheers
