The colors should invoke a futuristic space ship against a calming sky:
Grey - Sophisticated Neutrality
Black - Luxury Secrecy Fear
Blue - Knowledge Trustworthy Calm

The "8" in the logo should invoke an "infinity" feel. I have even played with rotating the 8 on its side but that is not a requirement.

Ideally, I would like to have a logo that combines the 4 characters (3DX8) in a clever way and is infinitely simple yet intensely familiar. A symbol that can be used on any merchandise imaginable.
