I agree that lines and fonts should be simple - 1 or 2 colors. I was thinking more of playing with background colors for the mark in total (various possibilities) or of the dog's face (one of the lighter yellow or taupe colors). More to give it dimension.

What would adding more color palette colors do to bring it alive? Background, dog’s face? Fur “spots”?

The addition of the second color really makes it pop.

Yes. This is very Very good. Thanks for your inspiration. Love the subtle umlaut eyes. Any thoughts on how to make the type to, to match the cartoony look of the image?

Your website has a cartoon image of a head. Can you imagine a dog/word balloon version of that?

Such a great concept ... a word balloon for the dogs head. Would you be interested in trying some additional designs based on this concept?
