Thanks so much for the submissions so far. Some notes for guidance:
1. In general, I'd like the designs to be less industrial, less corporate.
2. In general, designs should have more "character". They should "demonstrate the hand of the maker" similar to a handcrafted piece of furniture vs. furniture from Ikea. To help, understand that the site will focus more on the designers (people) and their process, rather than the finished product.
3. RE fonts, I'm leaning towards a serif font "with a twist". e.g. I like these fonts at itcfonts.com:
Bodini:

Galliard:
http://www.itcfonts.com/fonts/_tryfont.htm?ProductId=215541&VariationId=224200I love that these fonts have a history to them that I can relate when talking about my company and logo. I also love the way they look.
These are pay fonts, so I understand that you may not have them. Try to use something similar, and I can always swap it in the final logo.
I am also open to seeing some designs with more script fonts. e.g. The logo for my site at
http://www.zerelladesigns.com is Gigi from ITC (

Thanks again for all of your hard work!
