Let's add a bit of the artifacts into this. Let's take the approved stamp treatment from the other submission and do a version on white in all brown. And that should be the one. From there, it's purely color versions.

When we say 'other stamp effect' this is the one we mean.

This cleanliness on the 1909—also, sorry about this, with the 1909, a very tiny bit more kerning. That's what we think is working with that other font, but we like this one more.

Then, white outer background. Brown inner background, black lettering, black stamp.

And, because we're now on white, changing to the other stamp effect.

Very cool. Putting this on white is really helpful. The only adjustment here would be again cleaning up a bit of the artifacts outside of the 1909. Primarily along the bottom and inside the bottom of both 9s and the 0.

Just an FYI on this. We moved this up to fourth because it's on white and this treatment of the stamp looks great on white. This is part of the reason we're moving all the other treatments to a white outer background as well, so we can make sure that other stamp treatment reads as cool as this one.

We know this is a different font, but there's an advocate for it.

Can we see this one with a white outer background, white inner background, and then all the copy in that brown?

This distressing on the font is great. Excellent job. We're nearly there.

It's now mainly color variations.

First, let's do everything on a white outer background going forward. Not inside the stamp treatment, just the outer palate on white so we can get a sense of how those colors are pulling and the stamp treatment is registering.

With the brown and blue colors locked, the color variations we'd like are:

white inner background - all brown font and stamp

white inner background - all navy font and stamp

white inner background - brown stamp/navy text

white inner background - black text (the monochrome iteration)

brown inner background - navy text and stamp

brown inner background - black text and stamp

And this is another version, less artifact than 388.
ie. 388 with, 389 - without - 390 - less.

So that you can compare all three to decide what more to be added or reduce.

How about this ?

Honestly, it's tough to see the drop shadow.

But could you remove some of the distressed artifacts outside the "1909" itself. Inside the font is fine, but if we clean up around it, the 1909 should stand out a bit more and we should be there.

The font treatment is nearly there. Great work.

Very cool. A touch more of the gradient and a bit less of the distressing off the font itself. Some of those artifacts can go, but the distressing on the font itself works.

Let's stick with that other brown. That's the one.

Nice! Black may be better on that stamp. Though you may want to go white on the outside background to get a true look at it. A full brown background is pretty overpowering.

Variation 2 (Lighter background to match the blue)

One tweak on this just so we can make sure we're sold on the specific stamp treatment. Can you use the final font for "1909" and "Group" on this one. Keep the distressing and gradient treatment, just change the face.

That way we can have a side by side comparison of which stamp treatment we want to land on. Once we pick that, and have the distressing on the final font face solid, we'll just be down to different color variations. Great work.

Three tweaks to this specific look. Let's change the font to white. See if you can bring in some of the distressing & gradient from your submission in first place, and change the color on that stamp outline from black to the blue.

Excellent. Let's stick with this as the "1909" font for all the treatments. With maybe one other look at something like Newston Inline. But that would be probably the only exception. With that and the two stamp treatments you have, we should have all the elements we need to put together the final version. Great work.

nce we then dial this all in, we'll do a couple of different color combinations. Blue on brown, brown on blue, white on brown/blue, black & white, etc. But let's nail down the final design overall first, then those color variations should be easier to do.

We are also open to this font face as an alternate choice.

We also like this font face—and treatment, the distressing and the slight gradient. Very nice.

What we would like to see is, on the brown background version of this, is a white font with a drop shadow to give it some depth. Maybe in a complementary yellow/brown or something you feel works.

Color palate:
Saddle brown: We like the brown you've used here,

Blue: We're thinking along the lines of a darker navy. Something like a RGB 27 54 93.

We are open to the background stamp treatment you've used here as a second option. For example, if/when we do a black and white version and the other doesn't register as well, etc.

Love the wax seal background. Three notes on this. First, the “0” is too distressed. We might need a different font. The “Group” is too thin to really get a good read on, also, perhaps a different font. Last, that wax seal is great, but that color is reading more burgundy than even a dark saddle. Can you bring that back more toward our color palate?

We appreciate all the designs, there are a lot of great concepts in here.

In looking at them, we feel the sweet spot is somewhere between the first three concepts.

What we like about these three:

The first one uses the brown/leather palate as a base which gives it a nice western, old-world feel while still staying classy and classic. The second maximizes the color palate and connotes what we do, and the third is a good start on the clean circle concept that will work well across all mediums.

How we can build on these:

1st Concept: The distressed concept is nice, but falls somewhat flat. It’s very minimalist—which we like—but the 1909 itself needs to stand out more and the smaller you go on this, the more you start to lose “group” entirely. For this designer: Perhaps there are notes to take from your Artisan Builders and Kissani Market concepts, while still staying true to that leathery base and look here. In other words, this is an excellent first look, we look forward to the next iteration of it.

2nd Concept: Excellent use of the color palate. This clean governmental look is very well done, but it should be cleaner. For example, we can remove the “est. 2021” and the “lobbying and political campaigns” copy. Specific for this designer: We like the font face for "1909" in this execution. The ‘Group’ treatment starts to feel a little airline-esque though. Also, perhaps a solid bezel around the outside? Sticking with this clean concept, there also might be ways to incorporate some of what you’ve done with your The Duke, Lejon, and B&B Supply work. If that feels too vague, feel free to follow up.

3rd Concept: The cleanest circular execution. It works well across platforms and with an inverted palate, well done. What we’d love to see here is less Art Deco. The font face for 1909 isn’t bad, but the ‘1’ starts to get a bit lost and the accompanying letters skew this too deco. It starts to suggest more of a design company. We’re also not a fan of the lines bisecting the circle itself. For this designer specifically: We like what you did for Bizzie Gold and can see some elements of that might work well if incorporated here.

For the fourth and fifth place designs: We like both of your fonts for 1909 quite a bit. The 4th place design has a nice western feel to the 1909 font and the 5th place font for 1909 does a good job being classic, professional, and works for government affairs. But in the overall designs, as you can see in the notes above, we’re gravitating more toward a circular concept. Look back at the first three designs and see how the direction you’ve started to go in could pivot and work in a round execution. We look forward to your follow-up submissions.
