Hi Don,
Thanks! I love your comment...and I agree. I got a chuckle out of that. Your logo entries are awesome. Its amazing - you actually read the contest brief and put stuff up that I wanted to see. LOL You'd think everyone would do that! There are so many logos of yours I like elements of, this might be long email.
Entry #140 - I like the concept of having a bright background box. Can you make the background box bigger so the words don't bleed off the sides? It looks ok with the e because that's in black, but doesn't work for the D. Also would you mind removing the gradient from the middle of the orange box?
After you've implemented the above, I'd like to see one version of this logo concept with the font you used in Entry #142? Would also like to see different color combinations too - I'm really digging the tabloid-Web 2.0 of the orange, pink and blue from
http://buzzfeed.com/politics. I want the logo to look simple, clean and loud all at the same time if that's possible.
Entry #133 - really liking this font. Just not a fan of gradients in general. Would you mind removing that? Also, the white edges and the dropshadow - can you remove those as well? Would love to see this one with a more flat, solid look in the buzzfeed.com pink/orange. Also, can you play around with some different variations on word placement? Side by side like #133 is now. Also, one where "Daily" is smaller and placed above "Surge" somewhere...maybe to the right of the S so it fits in the space there? Any other ways you want to funk this one up I'm game with seeing. I just don't want it to be too retro and not enough Tabloid Headline/Web 2.0 feel
Entry #134 - this is just cool, period! Reminds me of a tough motorcycle jacket logo :-) It might not be the right fit for this project, but I'd like to see what the font looks like with the dropshadow removed. It might be clean enough then to be a really great fit. I'd like to see one version flat with no font outline, and then another where you keep it but just drop the shadow. Pick whatever color you think this one will look best in. Might not look bad in all black as one possible option.
#143 - Love what you did with the word Daily. VERY TABLOID! Can you drop the gradient in the red box and the blue/green line altogether? Also, I'm not feeling the handwriting font you used for "Script". Would like to see different options for this word. I'm trying to stay away from red since alot of my future competitors websites are red and black. That's why I'm trying out some other color combos. This one could be really cool.
Any other completely new and fresh design concepts are welcome! You've rocked it so far. Would love to see what else you have up your sleeve. Thanks man!
