Nick Jones Nick founded and was CEO of Old Pueblo Community Services for eighteen years until his retirement in 2013. He implemented program design based on his experience working in treatment and incorporating his experience in recovery in Los Angeles. OPCS helps men and women coming out of prison (with drug and alcohol problems), and to help them adjust to freedom and become productive members of society. Nick Jones hails from Los Angeles, where he grew up. He is a Viet-Nam veteran who served in United States Army from 1968 – 1970. He migrated to Tucson in 1992 after a visit to a long-time friend living here. He met his wife Leah in Tucson in 1992 and loved the city so much he moved to Tucson. He left Los Angeles upon completion of the Impact Program, a highly acclaimed drug and alcohol treatment center in Pasadena, California. Nick’s claim to success is based on his experience with Impact, a long-term residential tough-love treatment program. He advocates funding for more substance abuse treatment programs rather than new money to build prisons. He has the experience and passion to help this population transition back into the community. After retirement Nick has partnered with Charles Anderson in Scottsdale to start Happy Life Good Life Recovery Services which is scheduled to open in January 2015. Charles has operated two successful residential treatment programs in California and Arizona.
