This study aims to investigate prior and current COVID-19 infection in primary and secondary schools. It will collect samples from children and school staff monthly for 6 months, map outbreaks and try to understand their triggers, embed positive health behaviours in children and their families, facilitate contact tracing by adopting digital tools in schools and support mental well being of staff and students. We will achieve this in collaboration with our city council, public health colleagues and local schools. The study is based in Bristol in the UK but may have potential for national roll out (so would not want the logo to be city specific).

The Population Health Science Institute is a 700+ group of people using a multi-disciplinary approach to studying the health of populations, spanning molecules to communities. ​ ​Our research ranges from basic discovery science in molecular and genetic epidemiology to innovative clinical trials and policy-influencing and assessment activities. Our multi-disciplinary community spans across several Schools and Faculties within the University and tackles a wide range of questions about health and health care. Our branding will be seen by internal and external people including students, university staff, collaborators, the public (future or prospective staff/students) etc. It will be used in newsletters, our website, promotional materials etc.
