We are a coalition of non-profit partners and Washington, DC schools organizing a celebratory event called "Strawberries & Salad Greens" where schools across DC will serve fresh, local berries and greens in their school meals.

D.C. Farm to School Week will be a celebration of fresh, healthy, locally-grown foods in D.C. schools October 11-15th, 2010. We will 1) serve and highlight farm-fresh foods in D.C. school cafeterias; 2) organize field trips to local for kids to experience growing and harvesting local foods; and 3) organize in-school chef demonstrations of simple, replicable recipes.
