I had a Canadian client try to pay me through interac about a month ago. I'm in the U.S. and we couldn't find any way for me to get the funds. It seems as though you need to have a bank account at one of a few Canadian banks to be able to receive the transfer.
Way too much of a headache!
In the end, we used PayPal.
