I believe I edited one contest earlier, but I can't seem to figure out how to edit the info in my "Color Preferences" and "Other Ideas and Additional Info..." sections, in order to better let designers how to do the logo.

Where is the EDIT button???

You can't edit the original brief (this was changed a month or so ago). But you can add additional changes (although I'm not sure exaclty how as I've never been a CH) to that area.
